steve1977:Have you ever tried to use Minimserver with the Moment and configure alrtists to be served as albumartist? Minimserver allows to do so via a special setting: Artist.displayFormat={$albumartist}
No, and I will not for the reason I explained in a previous post, i.e. the lack of Photo support, but I guess it could be an option to circumvent the "feat." appearance in track artists and rationalize on album artists without loosing the tag on the track itself.

I am very close to pulling the trigger on a Moment. Have some hopes that I can fix my artist list with the logic above.
You mention the lack of photo support. This would not be an issue for me as long as all coverart is embedded in the files, right?
steve1977:You mention the lack of photo support. This would not be an issue for me as long as all coverart is embedded in the files, right?
mbolo01:Correct, Moment leverages what DLNA exposes which is what is embedded in the file initially. DLNA server Photo support, on top of Music, is the way to self-manage artists tiles. BS Moment, BS Core, BS Ouverture, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1
So, I pulled the trigger and will be a proud owner of a Moment. Will report next week how the setup goes. Fingers crossed :-)
A few more questions when setting things up:
I don't plan to connect any Beolabs to the PL of the Moment. I am planning to link the Moment permanently with an NL device (likely my A9). Not with a PL cable, but just configured through the B&O app. Will this allow me to access my Moment DLNA indexed files directly from the A9? Will the "join" function on the Moment still work and allow me to join the A9 into other playing NL devices?
Could I also link the Moment to an ML/NL converter (without cable, but configured through the APP)?
Barry Santini:Use Bliss Music Tagger and all will be fine
My collection has perfect tags using Picard. I have been reading about Bliss and it seems different from a tagger like Picard? What does it do and will it be useful in combination with the Moment?
I am really interested to „copy“ the procedure how will you establish a permanent NL link between Moment and A9 - in a way that when you press play on Moment the A9 starts to play as if it would be a WISA speaker. I tried to do it myself (have both) but never managed to. Keep us posted and enjoy your Moment! ;)
mbolo01:Correct, Moment leverages what DLNA exposes which is what is embedded in the file initially
I am looking now at my Momment. Nice device and looking forward to get it working eventually ;-)
Have started the setup and seems things are running fine. A few questions:
1) If I were to permanently link my Moment to a NL device (i.e., music playing directly to the NL device rather than PL/Wisa connected speakers), where were I set this up? Is this the MLGW option in setup?
2) I am surprised that the way to get into settings is to take off the back cover. Is this the only way? Seems a bit odd...
3) The Moment is harvesting my DLNA collection from the DLNA server now. Given large library, this will take a few days. Is there a way to see an intermediary result? I could of course setup a second server with smaller library, but wondering whether there is another way to see a status / intermediary result what is being displayed on the Moment based on partial harvesting.
Thanks again for all the help on this forum!
mbolo01:You have to do it on the NL device holding the speakers and link it to the Moment. The Moment itself does not have this option. I linked my Core to the Moment so I can play Moment sources from the Core and also direct the Moment sound output to the Core via NL
Got it. Now I understand what you are doing. But that's not a real direct link, right? It allows the Core to select audio from the Moment. But it does not auto-join if you play something on the Moment.
Thanks again for all your help.
I have tried MiniM server with the Moment and - much to my surprise - it is all working really well. It's quite close to perfect.
It seems that I in fact only have one real issue. How do I need to set the composer setting that it doesn't get in the way?
Also, I currently don't have any artist art, but it instead shows a random album art. I remember you mentioned that this is a limitation of MiniM server, but it should scrao from Gracenotes, which doesn't seem to happen.
FYI I am not using expert mode (yet). Given almost all seems to work, this may not be needed. What benefit would I anticipate?
mbolo01:A: can you elaborate? I don’t understand
I solved it and now all artists show 100% properly. I removed the extra command from minimserver to display composers as artists. This made my classical albums a bit less perfect (they now show by albumartist), but thta's fine and maybe even better this way. And was needed to prevent some regular albums (like UB40 above) to show oddly.
Overall, I now have all albumartists showing correctly and even the albums seem to show in the right order by release date. I assume this is thanks to minimserver and may not work on other dlna servers
mbolo01:A: Artist’s image should be fetched from Gracenote if name matches. If not you may see either a random album cover or a grey tile.
mbolo01:Note: I have answered to your previous post but it seems blocked.
I'll be patient ;-)
Thanks for your help. I wouldn't have bought the Moment without your guidance on this forum. And I am very happy with it!
mbolo01:I’ll give a try with Minimserver to confirm the sorting side. In the past I managed to have Twonky fixing some bugs in the way they were exposing the release date and I confirmed the fix through Glider, but the Moment was not processing correctly and is still not
Let me do some tests whether it’s indeed the album order. Maybe just by coincidence the few i checked.
One thing to watch is that i’ve tagged my files to the original release date rather than the release date. You know what i mean?
Glider no longer works for me. No idea why, but it gets stuck at initial scan and then doesn’t resume. you’ve experienced the same? * off topic *
mbolo01: there is no setting for Gracenote. Isn’t UB40 artist shown? It is on mine. I think they leverage the track artist and not the album artist to group songs behind an artist tile. But I guess that for UB40 you have this value in both song and album artist field
No, it instead shows a ub40 album. That’s the same for all my artists besides a few grey ones (which are the ones that have a grey album cover art).
The grouping works very well as i’ve asked minimserver to send the albumartist as artist. Maybe this somehow ruined the gracenotes feature? it makes grouping behind tiles perfect though.

steve1977:(2) works, but is not what i prefer to do.How do you do the “link” for your first use case? That’s what i’m trying to do.
steve1977:No, it instead shows a ub40 album. That’s the same for all my artists besides a few grey ones (which are the ones that have a grey album cover art).
mbolo01:To access the Moment « database » content, use the following URL with any browser: http://1 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx /BeoContent/music/dlnaProfile/track/?offset= n &count= m Where "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" is the IP address of your SoundHeart , "n" is the starting point from the first track in your database (0 is the default), "m" is the number of track per page (default is 50)

Dear mbolo01, tried your URL suggestion, but unfortunately I get only a error message:
when I enter "http://192.168.2.20/BeoContent/music/dlnaProfile/track/?offset=0&count=50" I get the message "The requested url 'http://192.168.2.20/BeoContent/music/dlnaProfile/track/?offset=0&count=50' was not found."What is wrong in my URL?
Alsfeld:What is wrong in my URL?
FYI: As I was seeing inconsistencies and error messages in my Moment, I decided to perform a factory reset and I can now confirm the following serious issues:
(1) Deezer collection fetch is not only taking into account my preferred artists/albums/tracks but much much more .... e.g I have 145 Deezer favorite artists, Moment fetch 5468 ..... I have 500 favorite albums, Moment fetch 8197 .... very long useless process.
(2) No more Mood nor artist images are collected for DLNA tracks. I suspect a Deezer API issue for the first one, could be linked to issue (1) and Gracenote failure (API change or subscription fees not payed) for the second one
(3) MoodWheel is consecutively grey .....unusable.
Do you have the same issues?
Just glanced through this new thread and recognize some of the issues posted here and while B&O pulled the plug on this unit but question if it still would be worth trying to compile a bug list of the most critical issues and see if it's possible to get them to fixed biggest issue? This is of course without know what they have in pipe and whether the could re-use the efforts in any other current or future products. But, as many in similar threads, if the Moment was released as in current state, with some minor additonal tweakes removed from the original release, it would have far better success.
Also, is it worth pushing the Twonky camp for tweakings which would benefit the Moment? Among other the constant updated of the various playlist on the Twonky is something that I would like to be possible to disable which would ease up for the Moment in it's update craziness.
Also, I actually yesterday performed a factory reset and currently only using Deezer and TuneIn as I had problem with some of the TuneIn stations that they stopped playing after a while and often after a week or two the Moment got sluggish and slept in for good. So clearly there is issues on my side with the DLNA and I only have around 21k tracks... I've also used Bliss to clean up the archive including that all of the tracks in compilation albums have set the album artist to Various Artists. It's about 50% of the tracks are compilations with various artists.
kimhav:but question if it still would be worth trying to compile a bug list of the most critical issues
kimhav:Also, is it worth pushing the Twonky camp
kimhav:So clearly there is issues on my side with the DLNA
* double post *
This development is indeed quite irritating. While I admittingly bough my Moment after it was already EOL, I didn't anticipate that it will become a (still) expensive brick after just one week...
The issues seem to be that gracenote subscription was not extended and that the software does not reflect the Deezer API change?
Do you know whether I could "localize" the moods by including a mood tag in my tags? It would be quite a retagging exericse with Picard, but not impossible if this would solve the mood wheel issue?
steve1977:The issues seem to be that gracenote subscription was not extended and that the software does not reflect the Deezer API change?
This is my interpretation, I'm waiting B&O support for an answer on this front, but here are some facts regarding DLNA tracks Mood and artist images:
The Moment used to display the following while playing a given track ("Monologue: Ike's Rap I"):
{"notification":{"timestamp":"2017-02-21T18:40:40.275874","type":"NOW_PLAYING_STORED_MUSIC","kind":"playing","data":{"name":"Monologue: Ike's Rap I","duration":238,"trackImage":[],"artist":"Isaac Hayes","artistImage":[{"url":"http://192.168.1.70/api/stream/gracenote:image?t=artist&id=WEcxA5TV%2Fm0DsbJMnaN4KBWb%2FmBSKiHcpXo7b66OoMdX%2BAWCTzaTjajtIjXSi7grnQmSDzuO%2FmlmOOozpTd5udciJe7cr%2B0qYklKhhDGLpYn2k9e7hEsT8XilGsaEZUEgL5NjXV8LkquOSa%2FM9ISpsEN4WlbCxCowK2mj%2Bxtq%2FQiy3F1b7%2FfAaE%2BcmiYlYhyBstura%2BYQF9Fh7p6mHyGI853aLZAxzKx66YHssod2t5QnnZ3M3H8GzWk5Tw%2FQvWhlG%2FXJZkU11KS7IBWYk5SAdzERq%2BUcNuF9ohXMEhY9R8t40BehsGveEEQ%2FlOCNlfV%2F22y0of7Qc9ANJlfuP119rWhQ9CdiMX3Fa3a8S96JycorIowJRt6fFRh1wuLC9J%2ByJDf4NUbR3dof7%2BdvHlLOBnMfVv2aVP5AVS2A7PaAiXHKx05yzz%2BzaiOIVFPKJxaA8G2pteUtUJDjOjAY8ueTbI6RYXxQOv3","size":"large","mediatype":"image/jpg"}],"album":"...To Be Continued","albumId":"48482","albumImage":[],"genre":"R&B","moodWheelItem":{"id":"2-42993","ring":"core","mood":{"name":"Dreamy Pulse","graceNote":{"id":42993}}},"originalSource":"DLNA","playQueueItemId":"plid-4121"}}}
As you can see above, artist image and mood used to be fetched from Gracenote.
Playing the same track today produces the following log:
{"notification":{"timestamp":"2019-09-10T16:32:02.803510","type":"NOW_PLAYING_STORED_MUSIC","kind":"playing","data":{"name":"Monologue: Ike's Rap I","duration":238,"trackImage":[],"artist":"Isaac Hayes","artistImage":[],"album":"...To Be Continued","albumId":"31311","albumImage":[],"genre":"R&B","originalSource":"DLNA","playQueueItemId":"plid-166"}}}
As you can see, artistimage is no longer resolved and no more mood exists for this track. In fact none of my 45k tracks has a Mood anymore .... but all have : "moodWheelItem":{"id":"0-0","ring":"core","mood":{"name":"","graceNote":{"id":0}}},"mood":{"name":"","graceNote":{"id":0}} which makes me think that this process is broken, potentially due to a failing API or subscription.
Adding Mood metadata to your track will have no effect as the Moment does not look at this metadata (assuming your DLNA server exposes it) but instead has/had a process to fetch the Mood from Gracenote.
The Moment used to manage a kind of Mood index that I guess the MoodWheel process was leveraging to set the MW inner ring placement of a given track based on the track mood value retrieved from Garecnote.
You can see this index here:
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/BeoContent/music/moodWheelProfile/moodWheelItem/
Where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of your SoundHeart
Got it. Hope they'll get back to you soon.
It seems that the Moment indeed turns into an expensive brick without this feature. I hope this is just a matter of API change also for Gracenote rather than the license not being extended. There still was an update some months ago, so it seems there is still some developer assigned to the Moment.
steve1977:I hope this is just a matter of API change also for Gracenote

Anyone heard anything from B&O related to this thread?
Yes, did ask B&O about the current issues with covers data and moodwheel. Moved this response over to the Beosound Moment in 2020 thread instead.
