So, I now have my Beolab 7.2 working with the HDMI ARC on my LG OLED.

Volume is controlled natively with the remote control from tv.

No static from speaker at all Big Smile

The extractor needs to be powered all at all times. When I come extend it to the tv usb power, it turns of with the. Tv, causing it to start at full volume when tv is turned on. Also making a pop noise in the speaker when being turned off.

So power at all times solves the problem.

Beolab is connected to TVs usb. Turning on and of with tv.

All hum from speaker is eliminated. When I had it connected to Essence/S8 hub it had a hum.

OldJack, I am not to keen on the lintronic box, as it needs to be placed somewhere in the room. But it would of course be nice. But I would go with BeoRemote One maybe Stick out tongue

Could you explain how the volume control is handled?

Peter needs this input before he can create his signature "PANart ™"  Big Smile

Volume control is handled with the TVs remote control. Hdmi cable goes from Hdmi arc into the extractor.

I don’t know if saying that the box makes the hdmi into an volume regulated aux cable would be correct, but it is basically what it does.

Here are pictures for you Peter. I use the cable in your link, so it is the headphone output that is the active output in my case.

Would it be correct to assume then, the ARC return signal from the TV is volume regulated?

- and can you set up  that functionality in the Sound Setting on the TV?

One more question?

Are the two line outputs volume regulated as well ?

And you knew it would be asked eventuality Smile : Can we have a picture of the INSIDE of the box, i.e. the board ?

I think the volume is regulated inside the box. But it is done via signal from the tv through the cable. No need for setup other than choosing arc output and activating hdmi-cec.

I haven’t tested the other rca outputs, but I believe they are. I will see if I have a cable somewhere so I can test it.

Considering that I have to see if there is anyway to build the hdmi connection into the back of the Beolab 7, it will be dismantled.

Wouldn't it be cool if we could get that stand to move as well?

Very nice work Peter Pan.

Here are internals. I was wondering if it would be possible so solder the powerlink directly to the board, using the 5v input as trigger. Any ideas?

Brilliant.

Yes, making the stands work via a similar method is surely possible.

We have two motorised floor stands for BV6/7 just in our stores, one boxed.

Seems a shame they have no use anymore.

The Cirrus chip actually have a few spare i/os but unfortunately I cant make out the marking on the other chips, except for the opamp.

An Arduino Nano would run a stand without breaking a sweat...

How did you manage to mount your TV on the stand? I have planned something similar for the weekend as my mom just bought a new 55" TV ;-)

I will replace the BL 7.2 with two Beolab 600 in her setup.

Living room: BeoVision 7 MKV + BeoLab 7-2 + 2x BeoLab 8000 + BeoLab 2 + 2x BeoLab 4000
Office / guest room: BV 7-32 MKIV / BL7-1; BeoSound Core + Turntable
Kitchen: BeoPlay M3
Bathroom: Gira Radio + BeoLab Celestial
Entrance: BeoPlay M3

Hi Leo,

Brilliant! One question though:

Does your setup work with Dolby encoded programs? Or did you need to set up your TV sound to Linear PCM audio only?

In my experience some (most of but not all) of those boxes work very well with Linear PCM audio but will output only static or digital noise when they're feed with Dolby 5.1 audio coming from the TV.

Thank you.

Ah, Maybe yes, I dont know. But it would make sense:
now you say it I remember when I tried something similar it was with the optical output of the TV.

I get sound from all movies I watch on Netflix, so I guess the decoding is correct.

HDMI ARC should carry full signal, but this box outputs stereo. Which is what I need it to do Big Smile

I have the same box as you, but I get a deep humming. It's not like the usual static sound, but like a mod-bass hum.

I have it cabled the same way too.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I figured out that it was the power supply I used that introduced the hum. I changed it another 5v 2a charger and the him disappeared.

I have also changed from headphone output to the RCA output. The sound is much much better and volume regulation is a lot smoother. You don't get that big difference in volume with every click like with the headphone out.

I've tried this solution with a Samsung LCD, about a year old. I got only full volume audio from the extractor. I've used 2 different extractors and these weren't cheap. Both were from the brand Marmitek.

The Samsung was a 43RU7100. It was a very unstable setup. I've fiddled for hours. The idea was to connect a set of BL6000's via the extractor to the Samsung. But I ended up with an extra BM6500. Not the best idea I had in mind.

So, I assume that it differs from brand to brand. It seems after a lot of reading that every brand has it's own thought which sound they put through the extractor. There are examples that the sound of the tv itself goes through the extractor, but sound from some apps don't, like Netflix or Spotify.

Great way to upcycle the BL7.x’s Big Smile

Maybe you can help me out. I have put the Marmitek AE24 ARC Extractor between my LG 49UM7100PLB and my BeoLab 7.1, .but the only problem is that I've got MAX volume output and I can't regulate the volume with the LG TV remote control...any advise?

WhauWWW, what a beautiful solution @leosgonewild Compliments!!!

The B&O Tv stand gives so much freedom (furniture placement) in the living room.
I currently have two 8000's (I sold the BL2 a while ago, replaced it with a B&W asw610, which integrates better, separate eq control, etc.) connected to a B&O Playmaker and the Playmaker with a rca to spdif converter to my LG C9 Oled.

I controll the volume with my BEO 4.
Works well and sound quality is good.

I'm planning to change my setup (I made a 'wall' myself, see photo, but on photo still with my old Philips tv), removing the wall and place my LG 55" C9 Oled on a B&O (motorized?) stand, freely in the living room, upgrading with a 7.1/7.2 an two rear speakers (maybe beolab 3), to create 5.0/5.1 surround. Don't know how, maybe with a Almando surround module (I'm making another topic about this question).

Can you tell me how you made the B&O stand with the LG Oled tv?
What model stand would I need, for the 55" Oled?
And would a motorized model be possible? How to control it?

What model Arc audio extractor did you buy (aliexpress?)

Leo???

And what about the quality of the sound? How is the internal dac from such a 'cheap' arc converter?

@Peter Pan: What a great 'photoshop'. Compliments Big Smile

In fact, I had a 'similar' setup, like you described/drawed, in the past.
Because I didn't like the looks of a big av-receiver on the shelf, I placed a Marantz NR av receiver, floating underneath the shelf.
This worked great, but changed to a B&O playmaker, because of the good internal dac, simplicity, control volume with beo4 and cleaner looks, auto sensing/switching inputs, etc. (Playmaker hidden underneath the shelf).
This pleased me for the last years, but always wanted a better centre-channel sound/voices coming from the 'screen'.

So bought a Beolab 7.1 last week (this topic: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/42877.aspx)
Already made my own bracket to hang it underneath the tv.
I'm making the 7.1 silver speaker-grill the same look as the 8000's this weekend (using same speaker cloth). Will post pictures.

Playing 'double stereo': 7.1 and 8000's both connected to the Playmaker (and a B&W subwoofer).
And possibly going to upgrade to real 3.1 surround, when I find the right small surround decoder ( Almando, Canton Smart 5.1, etc, like asked in this topic: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/42873/311542.aspx )

Here a photo of my former setup with the AV-receiver floating under the shelf...:
