Hello

After replacement of the panel, my tv startet with cracking noise all 2 minutes.

After that they replaced the panel again - this time also with the Electronic part. That had no effect.

After, they isolated the tv from the Plasticwall by changing the way of screw. Now it was 50 % better.

It is still a big issue for me, especially by listening classical Music. All 3-5 Minutes that loud cracking Noise.

The Answer of B&o is now:

„Sorry, but I do not think we can help more in this case. We have never promised the TV to be completely silent as different materials do behave different during heating up/cooling down.“

What do you think about that?

Are there other people with the same problem?

Thanks for your reactions

Patrick Zürich:
Hello

Are there other people with the same problem?

To be fair, a lot of devices do this and it depends on your own environment too. The A9 has common creaking noises when it warms up. I've experienced this on my BV11 connected flush to my wall. Become used to the creaking noises now - it's just the plastic expanding/contracting depending on temperature.

That's interesting. I have never once owned a piece of electronics, audio or video, that did that. Nor test equipment. Including tube gear. My toaster makes such noises though, and the refrigerator at times.

Hi Moxxey

It‘s my 6th beovision TV. Might be, they all had a little noise by the plastic on different Temperatures. No Problem for me.

But now, it‘s very loud when it happens. The first year with Eclipse I had no Problem with that. But After Panel-replacemet the noise was there.

First - was that an answer from your B&O dealer (from whom you bought the tv), or was it from B&O direct?

In any case, I think that you should not give up - I’d demand a replacement of the complete tv......if it is more than just ‘a little noice’.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

It was the answer from Denmark, transmitted from my local dealer here in Zurich. My dealer was not happy too about the answer.

I am a big B&O fan. I have/had plenty of products.

The Eclipse is marvelleous in performance and design. But what happens now with the noise-issue and the denying of it from B&O

makes me feel not really happy.

I really must think about it. But by that money I spent to the brand after the last 20 years, I really shouldn't give up now....

In the UK one could reject the unit and then demand a replacement or refund.

Thats what I would do.....

Sounds like it was not put back together properly. Something is wrong, a missing washer, screws over tightened and some not tightened enough, something like that. And it's upsetting that on a TV of that cost B&O would just shrug their shoulders and say tough, live with it.

Of course this is not acceptable.

Also it’s not really serious to repair consumers TVs in their homes. My Avant was repaired several times with new issues every time, new scratches and issues after aaaembly.

Almost impossible to make it perfect in a customers home since there’s dust and all in all an uncontrolled environment and most probably also a curious and chatty owner or stressed worker without his workshop at hand.

In a factory every screw is mounted with a specified amount of torque and is made hundreds of times every day. In your home the technician just uses a regular motor driver without torque or spin count meter. And they work under pressure and all the other things.

I got a new tv in the end due to all the issues. I feel it’s more common than uncommon that more issues are the result of home repair.

The eclipse is also a very different design as the panel and tv board is made by Lg. Should be easier and cheaper just to replace that part totally, not take it apart and repair in home. Must cost a fortune having someone do that in a country not being China with high labor cost and so forth.

Since they introduced issues you didn’t have just tell them you don’t accept it and request a new tv or money back.

Looks like a faulty installation. Amazing they can walk away from this. Honestly, some people are more sensitive to certain sounds and all active speakers give off some noise from my experience but a ‘cracking’ noise seems unusual to say the least. I think you have a faulty installation.

B&O in my life 😊:

  • Beolab 8002 + Beolab 2 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Office)
  • Beolab 6000 + Beolab 11 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Bedroom)

  • Beosound 1 with wireless dock (Portable)
  • Beosound Balance (Dining)
  • Beoplay H95 (Focused listening, travel)
  • Beoplay H9 (3rd gen) (retired)
  • Beoplay P6 (Portable)
  • Beotime wall clock (hallway entrance)
  • BMW X5 50i with B&O Audio Package (Commute/drive)

i don't think that's an acceptable answer from B&O.

My company car, a Kia Optima had a rattle, and the korean company fixed it because its not right! would expect far more from a high quality danish Hifi company

Terrible answer from B&O.

Don’t they realise that they are not going to get sales with sub standard kit on show!?

A happy end user will show to many and thus result in orders for the brand.

They should give it another go or replace it, especially with the long customer history.

Thanks for your answers. I will talk again with my local Dealer and B&o. I will post if there are any news.
