Hello everyone ...
reading for some years now, but this is my first post as i seek help.
I changed belts on a Beocenter 8500 tape drive (second version), When the Beocenter is powered on, the motor starts immediately and the big silver fly?wheels turn in opposite directions, this feels strange but i never saw it in action. Belts seem to be fitted correctly. But it never stops. But the mechanics (heads and so on) do not move towards the tape, the tape is not forwarded. Now i disconnect the cord to the tape PCB (again ...) This could be a very easy fix, i think the mechanics are to be turned to a starting position, but it does not move at all.
I bought a 9500 some years ago, and now a 8500 and damaged 9000 for some spares. I keep the 8500 now as it is very original. I also have a very strange CD problem on my 9500 and 9000 (another post)
Does anyone know aonything about it ?
Thank You, Jan
Hello everyone,
i uploaded a video to youtube ... now it plays but makes noises. In one direction there is a ticking noise from the left wheel and in the other direction, there is noticeable wobble and you can feel it on the left wheel when it plays.

Has anyone an idea ?
Add a thin piece of plasticard or similar to this point.Or a small piece of shrink tubing to the post it activates on the brake arm.
