Specific TuneIn stations work on PC and iPhone but are silent on Essence II, Moment, M5

Hi everyone,

I've been frustrated for a couple of months that my favorite radio station, KNKX no longer works on my B&O devices.  If I log in to my TuneIn account on my PC or my iPhone I can hear the music fine, so I know there station is streaming.  But if I use the B&O app to start it on any of my B&O devices I just get silence.

Would anyone be willing to search for KNKX radio on TuneIn and see if you can play it?  Does their sister station Jazz24 work?

Hi Alex,

Almost two years later I can confirm it is still not working on my Eclipse. Everything seems fine, the song title is even displayed on the Halo, but no audio is played.

I am able to cast it from the TuneIn app on the phone via Chromecast to the TV and it works this way, but... it just sucks having to fiddle with the phone every time.

I see two years have gone by already, so there's probably little hope they will fix it.

Robert,

Thanks for taking the time to test this for me.

I eventually decided that they would never fix it for me, so I went looking for a solution of my own.  It is a little wild, but I was able to solve this by using a Raspberry Pi to stream the station and then "rebroadcast" it as a new stream that my B&O equipment can recognize.  I created a custom URL in the TuneIn app and that got picked up by the B&O equipment.

So now I have a little Raspberry Pi Zero running 24/7 and I can listen to my favorite station again on all my equipment.  :)

Well, almost. . . .   Unfortunately, for new devices B&O seem to be be abandoning TuneIn in favor of their own B&O Radio, and they haven't enabled custom URLs yet.  So my Beosound Level is unable to stream KNKX through the app.
