Your mind might be twisted but your assessment appears spot-on. My mind IS twisted so, even the acoustic lens seems well purposed. If someone weren't so committed to the concept I would think it was a magnificent prank.

This doesn't look official. The acoustic lens placement wouldn't work.
The logo in the beginning has a rendering flaw — look at the B.
It uses a different typeface in the beginning (looks like Century Gothic), the B&O branding uses Gotham. Then there's a another typeface at the end, which is Arial.
Everything looks like a bad photoshop-job in my eyes.

BeoLab 22 was a product that was designed many years ago - just to show how the next level of BeoLab 18 could look. We are sorry if we have made anyone doubt or hurt anyone knowing that we have made our design on what we think a BeoLab 22 should look. We have sent all our designs to former design manager, Flemming in 2012 and Marie Kristine Schmidt back in 2015.Unfortunately, We do not have plans to create other concepts in the furture to Bang & OlufsenSo please just enjoy what you have seen and think about that designers are working so many hours to show what they have in mind. I agree that it was fun and wish we had more ideas like this to talk about. Maybe B&O will give us something new and exciting to discuss in the near future. Word is that the Harmony is just the beginning of many more new products to be launched this year.

The video was posted by a design and branding agency called Different Circle. Some of the clever people on here managed to work out that they had modified images of Beolab 18's to make them look like a potential new product. Giving them the name Beolab 22 and producing a clever little video made some of us think that this might be the dawning of a new official B&O product.
I'm guessing the video must have upset a number of people as it has now been taken down. As Gatex said above designers showing new concepts should be seen as fun but maybe Different Circles should have done this without trying to make the video look like it might have been produced by B&O.
Controversy, intrigue and suspense are all good marketing tools even if they are not always real. So thanks Different Circle for giving us something to talk about. I know it didn't fool some of the Beoworld Detectives but it did provoke an interesting discussion.
