Beoplay s8 problem

Hi, I’m having trouble with my sub not working properly. It is producing some bass but at a really low level. it’s hard to tell if it’s actually coming out of the sub or just from the speakers. I don’t use it very often but I’m not sure if it has ever actually worked as good as it should have (I brought it second hand about 4/5 years ago) I’m wondering if it was a reconditioned one as it was slightly cheaper but as brand new. I had to disconnect all the wires as I had the room decorated recently and since then I have reconnected it. It worked when all plugged in and I was shocked at how good it sounded! I don’t remember it ever being so good. The next time I turned it on the whole thing wouldn’t work properly. I then broke the optical port on the hub as this optical lead was always a bit loose and I thought that was the problem. I now have a cable running from the headphone port. The speakers are working but the sub isn’t working properly. I don’t know if it is just a dodgy sub or I’m doing something wrong with it?? If anyone has any ideas I would be most grateful! Hi Danf,

I have the same problem. I bought one from my friend and he was not using it since a long time. when I connect it to my TV without the hub only using the LINE mode with the jack. was no sound from the subwoofer only weak sound coming from the speakers no sub.

did you manage to fix your problem ?
