Recently tried to set up my old BV 7-32 after it has been in storage for a couple of years. When turning it on the screen is per the attached image. I presume it is beyond help but just wanted to get confirmation from someone more knowledgeable than me before I consign it to the dump  :-).

Thanks,

Neil

Image is there - just click on the file name to see it.

Looks nasty....I can’t help there.

Does it look the same no matter which source you are teying to play?

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Yes, the “smudge” on the screen stays regardless of source. I am presuming it is the panel itself but hard to tell

@MM

Thanks ,- I didn't see that Smile

@Neil

How was the TV stored? This could be moisture in the panel. Try leaving the TV on for a day or two and see if it changes in any way.

Thanks for suggestion. Tried leaving it on but no change so afraid it is a write off

Don't write it all off! At the very least there is a market for the stand and speaker, so maybe worth putting on eBay  From memory the stand is also suitable for a BV6-26.

Someone may also want the TV for parts - DVD mechanism or internal boards.  Advertise 'buyer collects' with a 99p start and you may save yourself a trip to the dump!

(EDIT:  Just noticed your location - not sure if they have eBay out there!  Or perhaps you are back in UK and haven't updated details?)

Hi,

If it's sure it's the panel, there is at least two of them to sell for quite cheap here in paris:

Dalle lcd beovision 7-32 mk2 HD

Dalle Beovision 7/32 Mk2

If you can convince them to send them and are wiling to pay for the shipping, it may save your TV.
Maybe not the most efficient solution economically speaking but if you love the set…

Thanks for all the feedback / suggestions. Unfortunately I am Hong Kong based currently and there is no meaningful second hand market so sale or repair difficult. A pity because it has been a great TV over the last 10-15 years I have had it. I will keep the speaker and find a use for that .... still toying with linking it to my BV12 as the built in speaker not very good in my set up up with 9’s and 18’s.
