In a way, it's almost the NG version of the BV14 with it's colourful fret.

I'd be happy to crowdfund this. Far more realistic price and happy to pick up an older LG to drop on it, too.

Please dont make us use that old thread about LG WISA-monitors.. It makes beoworld completely unreadable. We cant keep every topic in a thread about something completely else.

Apparently this has already been made.
A bit sad if B&O were to copy.
Wouldn't it be better, if B&O made something that noone else did before?

Interesting comments - reminds me of what we often get here:

1)  Love it

2)  Hate it - Ugly, Impractical, Too limited

3)  No good because it doesn't support XYZ

4) Too expensive

5)  Buy 5 speakers and a receiver for the less money and better sound

Actually I really don't see any of those remarks anywhere?  In general it looks like an almost unanimously thumbs up.

Pretty much a no nonsense design, looks great, and a perfect price point.

This will be the benchmark for the new B&O soundbar!

Correct. The single biggest issue for me is the crowdfunding - this can take ages before you receive your goods. I crowdfunded a fairly simple project end of 2017 and it's only just shipping next month. My fear here would be that it might be quite hard to get one of those LG panels by the time the soundbar finally ships!

Bit confused why they needed to crowdfund when they've got financial backing. And shame it's not live. Seems strange to ask for a deposit before crowdfunding has started - sounds like they are trying to gauge interest. My worry is, few people would want to commit this early in the project timeline.

Paying deposit for a non existing product,- The Tesla way seems to work Smile

From experience,- starting up a production is not cheap! Stuffing 20 boards in a pilot run easily set you back 20.000 Euros,- not including non recurring engineering costs. And this speaker has MANY parts.

The benefit of crowdfunding is:

You don't have to sell off part of your idea to an investor, they never settle for less than partial ownership! (The kickstarter sites will scoop up 10% right off the bat!)

The backers usually have a better chance of evaluate a project than say a bank and are more prone to risk taking.

The downside of crowdfunding is:

Unhappy backers are not easy to deal with and will require a huge amount of effort.

Real life....  Simplicity in motion!

One more... I LOVE bold colors!

Side view, you can properly hide anything on the "shelf" behind the screen.

Each to their taste, I suppose.
That orange one is to much 1970s for me.
Brown and Olive green will be next, I presume?
A thistle pattern perhaps? ... Oh, dear.

A black or white one would be fine. Maybe even a deep red.

Really looks stunning. I thought the BV10/11 used to look good, this is another level. So glad to hear that they have pre-production working models, too.

If this sells traditionally without the crowd funding element, it would be hard to not look at this first let’s be honest. Especially at that price.

How many on here have been asking for just this from B&O for years!

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Must read for those interested in the Canvas solution.

This is what these guys have choosen for the ‘3D sound’ optimization:

Nice design, but what about the sound ??

Without hearing BACCH licensed 3D audio, fake audio doesn't interest me. I want to choose an
HDMI 2.1 / eARC compatible pre-out surround receiver for an LG TV, When it becomes current.

My only concern is that its only for LG tv's, so you have to buy an LG tv, what happens if LG changes something and their screens no longer fit? Maybe alter the back or the underneath. Would they not be limited to how many they would be able to sell? Otherwise it is very nice.

How do you adjust vlume ?

possible additionl remote ?

what and how  you connect  to that oversize soudbar ?

BT, WI-fi, ect..

i think the soud is fine ..as it's masive with much volume to be fine bass.

but ..it's only for one size TV ?

and only for LG ?

From audiostream.com:

“The BACCH-SP actually uses a web cam and sophisticated real-time head tracking algorithms to ensure that the sweet spot follows your head. This frees up the listener, allowing them to relax and not worry about staying glued to a small sweet spot.

The calibration consists of three measurements: one at the center listening position, one at the extreme left listening position, and one at the extreme right listening position. Head tracking ensures that if your head is detected anywhere within these left and right extremes, you will still get the same 3D image. For example, if your left and right extremes span the length of your couch, you can sit anywhere on that couch, the camera will instantly find your head, and you will have 3D imaging!

I'll add that the sweet spot also extends behind the listener. The performance is of course optimal at the location where the calibration was done, but depending on the radiation pattern of the speakers you’re using, you can still experience excellent 3D imaging up to several meters behind the optimal position.

(I'm a Development Engineer with Theoretica Applied Physics, the company that makes the BACCH-SP.)”

So, is this soundbar using this same technology, and if so, does it just create a moving sweetspot that follows a single listener?

Oh come on, a) this is going to be FAR better than the TV itself and c) for $1000 I'm expecting something decent, but not Eclipse standard.

The point here is it looks stunning, will have excellent audio (you can see people have heard the pre-production unit) and it's good value. What's not to like?

From techhive.com

“That said, the sweet spot for the Canvas’s full 3D audio effect is pretty small. During the demo, I was seated in an office chair that was directly in front of the screen and about 10 feet back. When I moved off to the side, the 3D effect fell apart, although the audio itself still sounded relatively good. Indeed, only one person sitting in precisely the right spot will hear the full 3D effect, Rasmussen said.”

So it sounds as if the head following camera technology is not included.

Narrow sweetspot.

Any better than a BV11 stereo performance in reality? But if they've got the price point right, it’s a low cost way of getting B&O looks and performance from a big LG screen.

To me it looks pretty universal and i does come in two sizes. The bracket for the TV is a 5 minutes DIY job worst case...

Damn, that is sexy!

So the improvements it needs:

Center speaker and possibility for 2 or 4 satellites for surround.

Wet dream...
