I am curious if the analog inputs on the A9 are carried through to the power amplifiers in the analog domain or, as it seems to be the norm these days, converted and handled in the digital domain, all the way to the Class-D power amplifiers, with another conversion to pulse width modulation (PWM) somewhere along the way (for instance the Texas Instruments chips in Sony home theaters work that way).

The service manual is not very helpful in that respect as there is no schematic but a “wiring diagram” (see attachment) which does not specify what the signals are. I could of course dismantle the front and see, with a scope, what kind of signals are arriving to the amps, inside the area I circled in red. But I thought someone may already have done that and know.

I will appreciate.
