Genuine question here. Aside from seeing them in Official Dealerships I've never seen one in a private home, a place of business, or even heard anyone mention having bought one..
Reason : I keep looking for a pre-owned one to buy (old habits die hard..) and I'm just not seeing any. Either they're so amazing to own nobody would even contemplate selling theirs, or they've sold in such low numbers they're just not around second-hand.
I'm tentatively guessing the latter, but wondered if we have a silent majority on here who own one and are just being pretty cool and aloof about it..

I haven't bought one
I have no where to put it with the A9, A6, BS1
Plus, i dont have anywhere , where i could put it on the wall at 90 degrees without hitting it walking past.
I think they would suit a warehouse conversion or really high end architectural places.
I know someone that has bought one in the bronze and it looks beautiful. But i think its like when you buy a car you generally keep it for a few years before contemplating selling it.
Haven't bought one.
To be fair. I don't think it's a "home" speaker... More something for a hotel lobby, fancy fashion store... but not something you would have at home.
Still fantastic looking spreaker though. But very limited use at home.
Karel.
It's placement requirements mean it is all but impossible to accommodate in a "normal" home environment - hence low interest/sales.
Given b&o's current woes, the product they have chosen to work on/release are a strange choice at best!
Ban boring signatures!
Hi Lee
We have sold a few but it has been flying out yet.
We recently installed one in the Aston Martin showroom in Wilmslow. It is in the hand over area and has a customised wheel cover courtesy of Skiniplay.
Hopefully this will generate more interest.

Actually it would somewhat work as a floor speaker, but in that segment it's up against the A9 at half the price.
Form over function! Simply to bizarre... Wasted resources!

Sad when your new product takes a beating from your old one. In the future will people look back on the iconic B&O products of the 2010s and A9 be the only one?

Some Instagram installs
@1990
I am sorry, this is just to strange! why would anyone deliberately put the drivers 90 degrees off axis ?
A subwoofer perhaps....
Another home install
Shape + Edge
Craft beer place
Office
I love this one. Edge as soundbar!

Depends on where the listening position is? Maybe intended for a work/eat area on the left side?
Agree,- but most of the time I am actually located "somewhere in the room", and thus not leaning my head up against in wall.
Honestly I am slightly appalled by the fact that B&O is engaged in this "mono snake oil business" without any merits in sound quality aspects whatsoever!
But then again if you just want something "different" to showcase, it's perfect!

Paging Geoff Martin for some input here...
It always stuck me as acoustically odd that on the wall bracket your effectively facing the edge of it - from whence no sound cometh.. and to hear it properly you'd need to be flat up against the wall yourself.
However, as Geoff will attest, everything I know about acoustics can be written on the back of a credit card... on the signature strip.
As for Edge being more of a showroom product: I'd love to see an aggressive B&O biz dev group pursue, say, Starbucks. How about an Edge in each store? Thinking beyond the box...
Seems as if the edge is more of a company purchase than people buying it. The same goes for the Shape which was launched to be in hotel lobbies, restaurants and work places. There is something about the Edge that makes it look like it’s just the prototype and real one will have some detail on the hoop round the outside. The control detail on the surface is nice but not that apparent to make the speaker look “finished”.

For me personally the lack of detail would be its strongest selling point. I like it's smaller size relative to the A9 as well, even though this is not reflected in the price.
Vähintään yhdeksänkymmentä prosenttia suomalainen!
Mikipidia:I’ve heard people buying them, very few though. Sales for the UK last time I actively looked where very low for the first 5-6 months. If I remember right it was under 100...
That sounds like a fair number to me - if you'd said 30 I might have been surprised. I sort of like it, too, but not bowled over by it. I'd rather wall-mount an A9?
Not a huge fan of metal surrounds either, partly as I was tarnished by the BeoSound 4 all-metal base which was 'mare to polish!
Also, Peter Tyson has a few ex-demo units: https://petertyson.co.uk/catalogsearch/result?q=edge&cat=

Hi Lee, good to catch up with you earlier. Yes, it’s the latter. I remember when they came out last December, we though they would be a great seller, and with the launch date being so close to Christmas, and knowing they’ll be in short supply I ordered 5. Sold one to THE customer who buys everything...couldn’t give them away. Sneaked a couple out on EBay at silly money, but a proper white elephant!
I think it is a difficult product to place in most homes, doesn’t have great sound quality, nearly every dealer had issues with the bass port opening and closing, and for the money BeoSound 2 blows it away...
