Hello,

I'm pretty vague on Line-In Socket and what it is used for? Is it the same sized socket as a full-sized headphone jack?

Will a stereo/balanced audio interconnect cable with a mini male connection at one end and a 1/4" male plug at the other end work, plugging into a Chromecast audio?

What an epiphany, I'm so excited. If I get the cable to connect Chromecast to Penta Line In. What is the other cable?

Do I need a B&O "Power Link" cable to connect the left and right speaker to each other?  (8-Pin DIN Power Link Cable, probably 3 meters)

Where are the good B&O cables sold, what are the specifics I should be looking for when buying the cable to connect L&R speakers with Power Link?

Again, super excited about this discovery, I hope it works out....Kind of a minimalist dream.

Thank you

Hi Chris,

Chromecast Audio is a great music player to use with Beolab speakers.  You don't need a Powerlink cable between the two speakers, as one cable will split out to connect directly to both speakers:-

https://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/77-241-minijack-to-beolab-line-in-using-phono-rca-sockets-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m

Please set both speakers to "Auto" mode using the switches on the hinged front panel.  Volume control will be from the Chromecast app on your mobile device.

Please ask if you have any questions!

Kind regards, Steve.

Just beautiful.

A cable length question: With a 1 Meter cable I am limited in having my Pentas at 2 Meters separation.  If I get the 3 Meter cable, how will that effect the signal coming out of the Chromecast, having to split it and go 3 Meters.

The cable that came with the Chromecast is about 6cm, I imagine that has something to do with the signal strength coming out of the device.  Can I assume there will be no signal degradation using the 3 meter cables? Or are the 1 meter cables already pushing the limits?

Thank you,

Chris

I just sprung for your 1 meter cable. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks Chris,

The cable is on its way to you today.  You can go up to 20m (66 feet) in cable length without any noticeable signal loss.  Please ask if you need any further help.

Kind regards, Steve.

Hmm, it works.

I should have bought the 3m cable, but 1m will suffice for the moment.

$30 cable, $35 chromecast, $160 Penta 3, and I'm streaming the universe of music for $225.

Steve, when streaming straight from a chomecast to Pentas what are the settings you use for input level and Bass Enhancment.   I have the mode set to "auto"

Hi Chris,

That is a great setup and superb value for money!  You can turn the speaker level switches to maximum if you want plenty of volume, or turn them down if you want more control over the volume level.

The postition switch either boosts the bass by 3dB, keeps it level, or cuts it by 3dB.  B&O intended this to be for when the speakers are placed in the middle of a room, by a wall, or in a room corner respectively, but you are free to adjust these to give a bass level to suit your preference!

Kind regards, Steve.
