I am buying a new CD player to replace a Bang and Olufsen CD 50 CD player that was connected to a Bang and Olufsen Beomaster 5500 tuner/amplifier.

The B&O CD player was connected to the Beomaster 5500 with a Bang and Olufsen patchcord interconnect connecting PH Phono cable (model # B&O 6270213.)

Can I connect the new CD player which accepts  two RCA male audio cables to the Beomaster 5500 with a Bang & Olufsen 7-Pin Din Male to 2-RCA Male Audio Cable from Cables Online (Part Number: BO-2706)?

Thanks very much for your assistance.

Hi Princetonnj,

Welcome to the forum!  Yes, you can easily connect a CD player that has RCA/Phono/Cinch sockets fitted to your Beomaster 5500 using the B&O cable that you suggested, or I stock a high quality version of this cable that you can see for comparison at the link below:-

If you need any further help, please feel free to ask.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve:

Thanks for your quick and helpful response. I have the following questions:

1.    Your website says: “Our five pin DIN cables will fit and work perfectly in the seven pin DIN Aux sockets on newer B&O systems. The extra two pins are only used for remote control data to other B&O products, so they are spare in this application.”

Does this mean that the B&O Master Control Panel and Remote Controller will not work with a non-B&O CD player?

2.    What is the shipping time from the UK to the United States?

Thanks again. I very much appreciate your advice and assistance.

Hi Princetonnj,

The B&O Master Panel and Remote Control will select the CD input on the Beomaster, but they will not be able to control the non-B&O CD player.  For this, you will need the remote control from the CD player manufacturer.

I ship items by Airmail free of charge to anywhere in the World, this typically takes 7-14 days to countries outside Europe, with 28 days as a very rare "worst case" when items are held up in customs checks.

If you need any more help, please let me know!

Kind regards, Steve.
