Hi Alls,
My Beocenter 2300 automatically switches to radio by itself everyday around noon.
At that time it is usually Airplaying from the Aux In.
As far as i know there is no timer on the BC2300 appart the radio sleep function and the only remote around is a Beo6.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
If it's a two-way model there may be a timer set. Does it have an IR window protruding a little on the bottom left of the set?
When in standby, is there an extra (second) light showing on the display (I can't remember which side/colour!). If so, press MUTE (when in standby) and the light should go out, and the radio should no longer come on.
Otherwise borrow a two-way remote and cancel the timer program.
I have already tried to reply once but my response didn't show up - sometime this site is very annoying!

The bottom line is that you need a two way remote to cancel the timer.

I read that post on the green light meaning and of course I've turn it off without any results.
I've also read about the timer programming with a beolink 5000 but my understanding was that it was the remote who was triggering the functions on the beosound and by that, with no remote in the room, no "ghost" operation!
But what you're saying implies that the beosound has a built in timer function only accessible with a specific remote? What a weird design, dont you think?
Anyway, if this is the solution, I may be stuck whit that spirit within my unit, because two way B&O remotes are not a lot around

Not sure where you live, but perhaps there is a two-way remote owner close by who can lend you a remote to clear your timer. When I lived in Denmark I did this for one of my Danish neighbours; can't remember if it was a BM3500 or 4500, but he used to unplug it every evening to stop it turning on in the middle of the night! I cleared the timer and that solved the problem. On some Beocenters (eg BC9500) there is a 'testmode' way to delete the RAM, including resetting timers, but I am not sure whether this exists on the BC2300. EDIT: There is such a test-mode for the BC2300, but you need to remove the rear panel and short-circuit a 'clamper switch', whereupon a press of '7' will 'clear all preset programmes'. Probably best to upgrade to silver and download the manual from the site!

I'm in Paris. I'll look around for a two way remote owner who can help me. I believe I can use a Beolink 5000, the one who unfold itself and i dont remember the name and maybe a MPC? Is that right?
Maybe I'm wrong but I also believe the 'clear all preset programmes' refers to radio presets.
Whats weird is that i didn't found any reference to wake-up timers in any manual for the BC2300, service or user. Only in the Beolink 5000 but without any reference to the BC2300. That was what made me think the timer was in fact programmables IR commands sent by the remote.
BeoLink 7000 is the other 2-way remote that should work. I don't think any of the MCPs would work with BC2300.
I think the 'clear all preset programmes' may also do the timers - worth a try if you can't find a remote and are happy to take the back off.
I have both 1-way and 2-way versions of the BC2300 but they are stored away in boxes so I am unable to experiment. From memory, the 2-way did allow me to set (or clear) a timer with my BL5000, but not with any other one-way remote.
Good luck finding someone with the required remote - perhaps post on the French pages of the forum?

It's a 7-day timer, so it might do something different on Saturdays!

As you’re tinkering on.
Just replace the backup battery, bring the system in servicemode and reset the system back to default.
