Greetings,
This my first post and I am extremely happy to be here.
After about a million years I am finally putting together my B & O system. I have a rather nice Beogram 3404. The problem is that it may have been tweaked in shipping. The flywheel is "tipped" so that one "side" is low and the opposite side is high.
As it spins, as you might guess, the platter appears to wobble. However, I have put a .55mm shim on one of the flywheel tabs (I guess you might call them - there are three on the wheel) temporarily, and you'd never know there was a problem.
Outside of the tip in the flywheel, the turntable works perfectly and sounds great.
So, can anybody tell me how to remove the flywheel? I have the schematics, but I am baffled.
Also, my assumption is what appears to be a center shaft on the flywheel is kinked where it attaches to the wheel. Any ideas about how to fix this, or ideas about a solution?
Thanks in advance, and many thanks for reading.
Roger

Well, for those who might be interested in the solution to this problem, here's the story- I decided that I would leave the repair to the experts and took the turntable into a well-known restoration shop. It turns out that, as I suspected, the flywheel/platter had probably been wacked in shipping and the "spindle" (for lack of a better word) that extends down and out of the flywheel was knocked out of alignment.
The shop very carefully straightened the bend to within a zillionth of an inch. They also lubed the turntable, replaced 3 felt tabs on the flywheel, and made all the necessary adjustments.
I am playing LPs on it right now and I am pleased to say that everything sounds, and looks, fabulous.
