Hi,
I'm in the market for a set of beolab 9s, but I can't seem to figure out which year they were manufactured.
Serial numbers are 20891648, supposedly 2010, but I'm skeptical. Anyone can help?
Thanks!

Thanks, Lee and w5!
That is extremely accurate. This does not come from a publicly available database I guess?
Anyway, it does give me some margin for negotiation, though I'm a bit reluctant, I'd prefer 2011-13 units.
On the other had, it is always a shot in the dark, no way of telling how heavily they were used.
I have very basic access via a very kind source at B&O Denmark to help people with issues like this on BeoWorld. A dealer has way more access, but that's because he/she pays B&O a lot of money for it !!!
You don’t hear of many Beolab 9s going wonky at all, no matter what their age. When I bought mine (second hand) a couple of years ago I researched the issue and the only real concern was a low failure rate of tweeters. I bought a pair of tweeters from a very kind gentleman as spares just in case.....
You,ll love them!
Cheers
Nigel
Right, so still on the lookout. A pair surfaced with numbers 20002885, so I guess this is also a 2008 set?
I might just go for it, since there aren't many problems with these speakers.
Sorry to bother you again,
I finally went for a set, sold as a 2011 pair from a trusted used reseller. However, serials are 21880594. Are these indeed 2011 units?
