Thanks!
I heard the Stage too - it is quite impressive.
And the control of the unit og the Stage and the LG C9 seems pretty fluent with the BROne - feels like a BeoVision.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
The same feeling I have,
The integration with the Stage is great, not as integrated as the Eclipse and Harmony, but very well indeed and great for a lot of people.
The Harmony sounds great, and yes a step up from the Eclipse, it will be a great music player for a lot of people, and even better if you add speakers.
My only concern is if they have produced enough to take advanced of the hype, I really thing that the Stage will sell in big numbers, and the wood version is just beautiful !
Haven't been able to go to a store yet... How do you guys think the Stage compares to a BeoLab 7.1/2?
It is not really the same,
But to answer short yes, I think that the Stage have much more control, and a tighter bass then the Beolab 7.1/2
The Beolab 7.1 have better volumen because of it size, but dont have a dedicated center channel as the stage which help in much more clear dialog.
Millemissen: I heard the Stage too - it is quite impressive.
I'm seriously considering the Stage as a standalone speaker for the living room. Looks good, decent price, and hopefully sounds good and, of course, you can stream direct to the speaker from your smartphone.
As a standalone device, anyone know how it compares? I'm assuming A6 or perhaps BeoSound 2?
No much more, more like a set of 17's but more spacious only slightly less powerful at the extreme top end of power. It's kinda hard to explain, but it's very impressive. I have a video up on YT and another one will premiere live tonight at 20.30 AMS time, so that would be 19.30 UK time
I have now heard/seen the Stage in two shops.
Still amazing!
However the presentation was in one case not that good (might be different at a different time of the day etc).
And in my opinion they ought to expose the Stage a bit more in the shops....I suppose it is a product that the dealers and B&O should really focus on in the coming months.
In one instance they had mounted two (different) Stages under an LG tv - which looks kind of odd (imo).
Wouldn’t it be better to show them seperate with one wallmounted and one on a shelf under the tv?
How are your experiences with the presentations of the Stage?
Do they show it with the BROne control etc etc?
By the way, in one shop they had a Harmony with the 50’s as front and the Shape as surrounds - which was breathtaking.
Beware - as good as the Stage is - please don’t get the Harmony demoed right before listening to the Stage 😉
That would definitely ruin the fun with the Stage.
Since the BS Stage is a Dolby Atmos enabled soundbar, it might be interesting for some to dig deeper into Dolby Atmos for soundbars.
This article is already a couple of years old, but provides good background information:
https://www.dolby.com/uploadedFiles/wwwdolbycom/Content/Gutter/dolby-atmos-for-sound-bar-applications.pdf
Would be interesting to learn more about how much B&O has tweaked this technology - where the B&O ‘sound design’ adds something to it.
(How about a Technical Sound Guide for the BS Stage).

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Would be potentially overkill. The BV12-65 centre + BL3s + BL11 is a very excellent combo. Really unsure a Stage would add to that? Maybe a better 'centre', but marginal. The Stage is more of a BL 7.2 replacement like the centre speaker you used to have under a BV7.
No, I was thinking of using it elsewhere as a simple wall-mounted speaker. Just looks decent and good value.
I listend today at my dealer in Amstelveen.
Both the tv (Harmony) and the soundbar sound amazing.
The tv is to big and quite a lot of money for the soundpart but the soundbar is really worth the € 1500,-
I like the lg oled 65 a lot so this soundbar is really an addition for this set up.

Thinking along the same lines, the Stage could be a great speaker solution in some audio-only setups or secondary rooms. I see two audio-only places in my home where it would be ideal to replace ageing Beolab speaker pairs and I am quite tempted actually.
But then why, oh why, did B&O not include a PowerLink connection?
I understand how the Stage is primarily positioned. I also understand that B&O is moving away from audio masters (or servers/steamers/whatever you name the old Beomaster/Beosound concept today) and therefore the concept of PowerLink is becoming outdated. But would that have been so complicated or expensive to include a PowerLink connection? Why on Earth did B&O decline to offer the option to use the Stage as a Beolab?
The PL connection wouldn’t cost much, but the more complex sound processing needed would make the product much more expensive. And I guess they have another product with PL in the pipeline, albeit at a very different price point.

Thanks for your feedback.
Just for my understanding, which additional expensive sound processing would be required for a PowerLink connection, compared to the existing audio connections (Line-in, Bluetooth, Airplay)?
Anyway, there must be a reason (cost, marketing positioning, fear of cannibalisation of the less expensive Beolabs, who knows...), but I find it a missed opportunity for the users to have deprived the Stage from the option to be used as a Beolab (and the same for the A9 by the way).
If you want to use the Stage in place of Beolabs, why not use Line-in? The older master equipment AUX port is both in and out (at least my BS9000 is) to support tape-decks. Otherwise, I bet Steve / Sounds Heavenly has a cable that will do this.
the delay is something like 60ms or 20 meters in distance. so unless your avr can compensate for that amount of distance, your center channel will always be waaaay late.
@js
pl ports aren't just plug and play, the stage would then need to know where the speaker is and what it's role is. so lets say you ad a bl18 as a right channel, the stage would then need to figure out if the right channel of the stage needs to be off or also play the center channel, or in other cases you could leave the right side of the stage in right channel but in a lot of instances it would cause an echo so you atleast need the option of what to choose to do with either channel. this is all before you even get to the mixing and distribution of the audio signals, so there is more than just a little port addition to do and it basically would need the trueimage processor and a bunch more software. by my estimation and knowing roughly what the parts cost in the eclipse for that job, it would not only make the stage larger but also about 2000 euro more. The only way I can see them doing it ''on the cheap'' is to ad 2 possibly 3 dedicated ports for left/right surround and a subwoofer channel, but that would also ad additional cost, my guess is roughly 500 euro. even so it becomes too expensive too, not to mention a fully fledged stage would basically make beovisions useless and the only added value would come from the motion of the bv's, which is imo insufficient.
just my 2 cents :)
Hi,
I'm off to listen to the Stage on Friday and I will video the results ;-)
I can confirm that it can be used as a speaker with any classic B&O audio system, you can see the cables for this here: https://soundsheavenly.com/search?controller=search&s=stage
I will be interested to see how the processing delay within the Stage affects the analogue line input, so I will be doing some tests to simulate using the Stage with the headphone socket of an older TV to see if this is workable. The delay won't be a problem for audio use in most situations.
Video report to follow over the weekend!
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.

The BS Stage is not a speaker - it is an audiosystem with an additional HDMI/ARC connection and Dolby Surround processing.....because the main focus is on sound from a tv. When used with an LG-C9 and when BeoRemote One controlled, it also need a ethernet connection tv <-> soundbar.
There is no way that could be wireless/WiSA-enabled.
Like with most other current BeoSounds there is an analog input port - no problems there for pure audio.
We will see, from the tests, that Steve makes, how good that works, if you intend to use i as a (e.g. center) speaker using the analog in..
It is not just a matter of delay from the audio processing in the soundbar, but also a matter of what the processing does to the sound.
It may be hard to match that with the sound from the others speakers in a multichannel (3.0/5.0 etc etc) setup.
I have to say, I was really looking forward to the new Stage.
However, I can't believe they have not put a sub out on it.
I guess I need to try one at home, but I have never got really good results without a sub on any system, even full range 25hz capable speakers have always integrated better with a sub.
Looking forward to trying it though.
Completely agree.
I dont quite understand why so many are trying to repurpose this as a centre speaker, when it has clearly been designed as a standalone product and not with this use in mind.
Of course I understand that people want a centre speaker, WISA enabled or not, to use as part of a 5.1 setup with their existing BL's.
But the Stage is not it.
And I'm not keen on work arounds that dont fully use the products functionality and design.

having tested one on my channel I honestly can say that I don't think it needs a sub at all.
The Harmony will be lowered in price in the same rate, as you can just buy a C9 panel elsewhere or the B&O shops will discount the prices. So it is 100% transparents what you pay for the B&O part.
Since B&O have proven this concept with the Harmony, it would only be naturally to come with a Soundbar with same options.
And this have been rumoured long that it will arrive next year.
So hold your horses and dont try to make the Stage anything else than it is.
But dont expect a price similar to the Stage.
pauliander:The reason is simple. The large screen Beovision is too expensive, certainly if you compare it with a 77C9 which currently sells at 5000 euro. The Beovision offers a sound system, etc. but still... TV technology evolves very fast these days. So if you want go with another screen (as many will do I guess) and build a B&O surround sound system around it, you need a proper center speaker and a surround processor. Yes, a lot of people have invested considerable amounts in B&O speakers. These speakers now need to be integrated in new systems. The same applies for B&O based home theaters for which there is still a market given the available Wisa technology. Unfortunately B&O has not come up with practical solutions for these client groups.

Will Stage work correctly with the LG TV remote controller?
poodleboy:Will Stage work correctly with the LG TV remote controller?
Any idea if the stage can work with C8 and Beoremote 1 IR properly🤔

You will need to have a C9, and a Beoremote Bluetooth
So no neither of the two things will work.

Hallo Exax,
You are right but that is not how I define the question, the stage seems to give too much confusion.
When you write as you do, people can think, okay so if I just buy a Beoremote one Bluetooth it will work.
And that is not correct.
The stage will work on any tv from 2012 and forward.
BUT!
If you would like to control a tv with a beoremote, it have to be LG C9 and a Beoremote Bluetooth.
Mikipidia:The thing is, the stage would still work with the br1bt just like a bs1/2, heck the br1bt even works with your iphone/ipad. It would just not work with lg panels older than c9’s and that’s because of the software on lg’s part and what they allow, which is what you need for flipping channels and that sort of thing.
Its even so that it has to be specifically a C9 panel. A B9 panel will not work, even though it also has eARC and same WebOS as the C9. The difference appear to be that C9 have a slightly more powerful processor and its only towards that processor the SW that make BR1 work is made.
