Hi all,
I have a Mac mini connected to my Beovision 10. Can you tell me what the optimal MIDI settings are on the Mac mini to play stereo music via HDMI to the BV10?
I now use 96000-Hz 6-channel 24-bits.
This is the "maximum" configuration at the Mac mini I think, but I do not know if this is optimal for the BV10.
Thanks,
F.

I would be very cautious - "if it ain't broke don't fix it"
I have managed to break my HDMI definition again (I think in the LinkPlayer tests I conducted 2 days ago). and I have not been able to restore it - despite delete/redefine, reboot, and even replace cables (which is I think what worked last time)
BeoNut since '75
Normally I also have this caution. But I yesterday upgraded to iTunes 11, and suddenly iTunes played music to all channels.
The previous situation was such that if I played music via iTunes the sound would come only from the BL9's, although the BV10 was in speaker mode 3. So the Mac somehow knew that it had to output music sound only to the front L and R channels over the HDMI connection.
After upgrading to iT11 suddenly the default speaker mode 3 of the BV10 sounded over the BV10 center speakers and over the BL9's. So the Mac send the music to all 3 channels it seems.
This is not what I wanted, so I googled around, and somehow stumbled on the MIDI settings on the Mac.
I changed the MIDI settings to what I wrote above, and voila, the music sound comes nicely out of the BL9's.
But I do not know if the Hz and bit are the optimal settings for the BV10.
Regards,
I think the easiest way it to chose 2 speaker mode on your bv10..
Try fixing things that are not broken almost always end up in broken things.. :)

I too think this would be best. Simple and common format as the 16bit 44,4khz. Then a minimum of conversion needs to be done within the TV.
Too long to list....
