My Beocenter 2 has recently started refusing to read DVDs. It attempts to read, gives up and opens the doors again.

Lee kindly cleaned it for me last time this happened. Can anyone recommend the best way to clean the laser mechanism?

Cheers all.

I was digging that topic for a long time and found out that pure alcohol can be dangerous for anti glare coating of some lenses. Of course B&O equipment may have lenses more durable … but generally ( as there are no special cleaning liquids on the market) specialist advise to choose something softer:
from distilled water ( used to injections) to pure water and isopropyl alcohol in an approximate 70:30 ratio + one small drop of detergent.
