Lord, I hope so!

I'm currently unable to listen to my favorite TuneIn Radio station on any of my Multiroom devices.  My workaround has been to use Chromecast, but that means I can't stream to my Moments or add rooms to the group dynamically.

Sources: 2x Beosound Moment • 4x Beosound Essence Mk II
Speakers: 3x Beolab 8000 • 2x Beolab 6000 • 2x Beolab 3 • 3x Beolab 2
Integrated:  1x Beosound 2 • 1x Beosound Level • 4x BeoPlay M5 • 1x BeoPlay A6
Control:  16x* Essence Remote  • 1x Beoremote Halo

* Yes, really! 🤦‍♂️

I have issues with TuneIn and B&O products too since last weekend, not that I cannot listen to them, but at least two of my favorites are now playing in low fidelity .... like a AM ban radio on a legacy Beolit .... These two radios are from the same French broadcast company.

I managed to fix one radio last week by removing the radio from my favorites and add it back after a while, but I think it was pure coincidence as I did the same yesterday for another radio without success, ..... and today the one I fixed last week has the same issue back.

Playing these radios with TuneIn app and CC it to B&O product is OK, which seems to indicate that the TuneIn link is OK

To circumvent this quality issue, I have manually added these radio HiFi URIs to my favorites leveraging the TuneIn app so I can play them with the highest quality, on all products, multiroom included.

I'll raise a support ticket with TuneIn AND B&O.

While I hope you're right, I wouldn't jump for joy just yet. Building a high quality software development team and environment is not an easy task, it's more complicated than most management types think it is. This is an area where outsourcing to a good s/w house can make sense, but as always the s/w will only be as good as the initial requirements are and the testing makes it. Far too often initial system requirements are not well thought out, not thorough or complete enough, and not designed to be testable (that's a whole different aspect, requirements and test traceability). Also, you have to beware of "scope creep" where the impulse to just keep adding " just one or two more things" that are ill thought out results in something that isn't finished or done well when the money runs out, so too often you get the s/w version of the old hardware lament "measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an ax, beat to fit, paint to match, and ship on schedule."

Lately B&O's s/w seems to suffer from both a lack of proper testing, especially regression testing, and poorly defined requirements. I don't think their job is easy, it's different when you control all the interfaces and requirements in house, it gets much, much harder when you have to deal with merging and communicating with every one else's stuff, like Blue Tooth, WiFi, DLNA, etc.

I hope they manage it though, it will make or break the company I'm afraid. Another disastrous round of buggy s/w driven products will kill what's left of their reputation.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

Additional you need in my eyes a small capable IT leadership team with a clear software vision / strategy AND the power to implement it.  I do not see the vision / strategy nor the unconditional intention to change it.
So still a long and hard way to go (including the exchange of some key players at headquarter that did not manage it in the past), and we will see if these key players with the wrong mindset or Bang&Olufsen will survive.

I hope Kristian Tear (the new CEO) has the power and courage to clean up Bang&Olufsen!

I noticed that as B&O releases new versions of the app, particularly the beta, the number of bugs increases, including old ones that were fixed at some point in time.

I also noticed that Mr Andersen is no longer updating this forum, that issues reports via the app or via TestFlight are no longer ack, so are never taken into consideration.

A pity and a shame at the same time.

This is starting to drive me crazy. Updated the app to the latest version and it loses my preset equaliser and volume settings. When I try to change them back to what they were it won’t retain the changes.

Can’t play the radio from the app and on spotify the main screen won’t display the current artist.

I’ve restarted the app/iPad and also the core and it doesn’t help.

This is basic stuff . Anybody else seeing these issues?

No, this ‘basic stuff’ works fine here (two minutes ago).

They apparently have never heard of regression testing, where when you make a change you go back and test all the software functions before you let the revised software out into the wild. Gets more and more difficult with increasing software complexity, costs money, but failure to do it results in a lot of upset customers and a bad reputation. A lesson I think Boeing is learning now that they should have known already.

Update.

I’ve done nothing further but after a while it is now working as expected. Struggling to think what causes that to happen and resolve itself but the update process seemed to take more than an hour to be fully operational.

Just to confirm, I have installed the 2.10.1 beta and internet radio  is still working fine on the Eclipse.

Jean
