Hi

My first post.

I recently bought a set of beovox 5000 panel speakers. I have always admired the look. They are beautiful.

My idea is to use a Chromecast audio as signal source and a Beolink passive as amplifier. No further system was my plan. Is this possible, or does a Beolink passive have to be connected to a Beocenter or similar to work?

Regards

Kristian

The Passive (as an amp) will have to be triggered in order to turn on.

There might be a solution for that  - please contact Steve @ SoundsHeavenly for a solution there.

However, since there in this case is no possibility to use a physical remote control for volume controlling, you will have to use the (app on) the mpbilephone/tablet for that............which IMO is not the best way to do volume controlling!

If the Beolink Passive route is not possible perhaps something like this will suit. It can seemingly power any passive speakers so should work with your BeoVox 5000s

Hi Kristian,

Welcome to Beoworld!  You can use Chromecast Audio with Beolink Passive via a special trigger cable (https://soundsheavenly.com/link-input/75-444-minijack-to-beolink-passive-mcl2p-powered-trigger-kit.html#/2-length-1m).

However, you may find that the Tibo Bond 2 wireless streamer gives you a simpler connection to a Beolink Passive, as this streamer has a Powerlink socket to allow easy connection to B&O speakers and amplifiers:-

Please ask if you need any further help.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
