Hallo zusammen!

To connect the bc9500 and the BV10 you need the Beolink Converter 1611 or 1614. Additional you need a masterlink cable betwenn the BV and the Converter, an Audio-AUX cable ( 7 pin DIN cable).

Both could be obtained from Steve at Soundsheavenly ( see link at bottom of page). He is very helpful!

To setup the system you need to put the BC and the BV into standby1 then get your BL 1000 ( it's the easiest way). and press <SOUND> <2> <STORE>   and then <PICTURE> <0> <STORE>. this setting let the BV ignore the IR Commands and the BC react to Audio _and_ Video commands. The video commands will be routed to the BV via the Beolink converter and Masterlink cable.

Now disconnect the BC and the BV from the mains, wait about 30 seconds and then connect the Audio-AUX cable to the BC9500 (A.AUX/TV socket) and the Beolink converter and the masterlink cable to the converter and the BV10.

The next step is to connect the BC9500 to the mains, wait about 30 seconds, then connect the BV10 to the mains, again wait about 30 seonds and finally connect the Beolink converter to the mains and again waiting about 30 seconds.

Now the system should work as desired: Everything is controlled via your IR Remote. Audio sources will be played through your Pentas as before. Also the Video sound will be heard . The Pentas should show TV for TV, V.Tape for your V.Tpe (V.MEM) and so on.

sheer madness, thank you. then I'll buy a beolink converter and see if everything works fine. which should I take? 1611, or 1614? are there any differences in the software? I will next install my gateway and linkrooms.

Thanks to ulf, I am well acquainted with the old b & o things. a best greeting at this point.

thank you al Bundy

Try to get a 1611, this can be used more versatile than the 1614, but the 1614 will do it's job also in your case.

Hi kopfnuss,

Try changing both the BC9500 and BV10 to Option 1.

Then restart the three devices as Ralph-Marcus described.

Now turn your TV on and set default volume to zero. NOT muted, just zero (keep pressing the Volume Down button).

Now when you want to watch TV with sound, you’ll need to:

1) Press TV (BV10 should show the picture, but sound should be zero).

2) Press AV then TV (should turn the BC9500 on and play the TV sound at the default volume level of the BC9500).

3) Any sound or channel number adjustments you now make will be addressed to the BC9500. But if you issue a “video” command, e.g. DVD or Text, the remote will address the TV once more instead of the BC9500.

Is that a control process you could live with?

Lawrence
