Hi,
I´ve just bought the Beoplay A9 and connected it to my Samsung TV with the optical cable. But now the TV remote control is unable to adjust the volume. So at this moment I have to use B&O App or Google Home App (iPhone user) to adjust volume.
Is there a better / easier way of doing this? Can i pair the samsung remote in some way with my A9 ?

Hi
I have Samsung TV..and on my tv, optical out volume can not be regulated.
Very few devices with a digital out/optcal out have volume regulation of that.
This requires some extra processing in the device (which would make it more expensive/complicated).
The main purpose of the dig out of the Samsung is to connect to an A/V receiver or soundbar, which on their own have a volume control........so no need for the volume regulation on the tv.
If the Samsung tv does not have an analog output, you are stuck with how you do it.
Only way around here is to control the volume of the A9 with an Essence Remoe (the wheely) or with the BeoRemote One.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
If the TV has a headphone jack you can connect that to the RCA line in to the A9. The line out from the TV is fixed volume. Only Sony I believe has variable line out (which I use)
B&O in my life 😊:
The TV only got Optical and HDMI out . not analog :-(
I figured out that the A9 can take commands on the network (CURL scripts) - so ill try to find some code bits to see if I can control it from a Phone App. I'm already using Apple Homekit and Home Assistant. Maybe it can be integrated in these.
You best option in that case is to get a stereo amp. Connect the optical out from TV to the amp and then use the RCA out from the amp to the A9. You can get any basic amp with volume control if that is an option. I used to have my A9 connected to my TV and it sounds great. Better than most sound bars in my humble opinion.
I actually find that I can use Google Home App on my iPhone to control the Volume :-)
you could pair the Essence remote with the A9. Choose the table top version and you have a simple, big and nice volume control for the A9.
thanks. I might consider that :-)
