Hello everyone,
I recently got my Beosound Stage - Smoked Oak (And I absolutely love it!). But there is a kind of issue with the product. I got the product mounted on the wall and used the HDMI cable from the stage -> my brand new C9 77" TV in the HDMI ARC. Everything about the controlling and everything works, but once every 2-3 minute, the sound stops for 1 second, 2 seconds later, it stops 1 second again and then there is nothing for the next couple of minutes again.I've tried with another TV, same issue. Tried with another HDMI, same issue. Tryed to connect the device to my iPhone 11 Pro with Bluetooth, same issue. I tried to restart the Stage, I've tried to reboot it, tried to connect to another internet, everything and it seems to keep on going. Anyone knows what this may cause and how to troubleshot it?There is no such lagging on the internet (running 200/200) and the stage is right beside my router, and when the sound stops, the picture on the TV just keep on rolling, doesn't matter if it is live TV, a netflix movie or streaming from YouTube, still comes.
Any ideas? :(
Strange problem! Does the problem persist with Deezer/TuneIn?
Do you have the BeoTool-app? Maybe that could shine a light on your problem?
You probably already did a power cycle...?
Yeah indeed it is a strange problem, I got 10 B&O products and this is the only one running this issue. Yes, it also runs the problem using Tunein.
I do not have the BeoTool (didn't know it did exist!) but I just downloaded it.Nope, I did not do a power cycle, but I tried to cut the power off from it, restartet, rebooted, everything and on the same power-link my TV and lamps are connected + my A9, so this shouldn't be the issue
Hi again,So now I just tried the tool, and there is nothing wrong, yet it says "service" on all my products because the Deezer status is unconfigured. But.. "Frequency" is 5GHZ on all my products, but on the stage it is 2,4 - How do I change this, and may this be the issue?
Might be a hardware problem. Did you talk to your dealer/Beosupport?
I just think its wired when I just comes that randomly.. Do you know how to change the frequency Ghz? Nope, I wanted to try to resolve it my self, really cba to deliver it back and wait for it to get fixed and living without the soundbar for weeks :)
Now I actually rebooted it again, and the problem is gone when I use Bluetooth but still appers using the HDMI arc..

Hi,
I tried, but I might buy a new one and try again - I just think it is wired it comes every 3-4 minute and then this 1 stop for 1 sec, 2 sec delay and 1 stop for 1 second again - if the HDMI was the issue shouldn't it be more dramatic/not working?
This is a relief. Someone reporting a similar problem to mine!

I hadn’t thought of describing the problem as a lag. I called it sound break, flutter, hesitation etc. Take a look at the thread I started which really focuses on the B&Os response to my problem. I am still finding it unbelievable that they haven’t contacted me to explain how I return the Stage for a refund.
Hey, amazing! I've tried to troubleshoot this for days and searched on everything possible on google.. Nice to hear someone has the same issues as me.
So you've bought a new one, because you though it was the hardware on the first one yes?- And then it turned out, it isn't the stage, but the ARC there isn't fully compatible with the TV? I just found it wired that the sound is PERFECT, and then does lags come, where do they come from? I mean, if the HDMI cable was bad, there shouldn't be any sound or more lags than these - and if then TV isn't compatible is shouldn't be working at any point - isn't it a wired situation?
Okay.... damn!
I just realised I got the exact same problem.. just tried to change the HDMI again with a new one and everything, and it still comes... seems my TV isn’t optimal with the ARC. May I ask which TV you have? To be honest LG should replace the tv with a version which has proper HDMI ARC if that’s the problem..
My TV is the LG49UM7400PLB. The problem is that HDMI ARC is not a standard feature. Manufacturers may adopt slightly different characteristics for their ARC. And even one manufacturer may not have identical ARCs in all their products. So if a soundstage is not compatible with a TV, which is faulty? If there isn’t an agreed ARC standard, neither is! This subject is beyond my pay grade. I’m merely passing on what my dealer told me. It is incredibly frustrating. I have gone back to a simple stereo amp with two front speakers for my TV. Even without the bells and whistles the sound blows away the Stage. My main interest is music, not films. I removed a decent 5.1 to make way for the Stage. So at least my centre speaker, AVR amp, subwoofer and rears have gone to a good home. My front Spendors are powered by an old A21a Sugden I have bought back into use. All I need now is for someone at B&O to wake up so that I can return the first Stage for a refund. I have now waited over 10 days for any response from them.
I thought this was interesting. Note use of the word “most”

Yeah.... I think it sucks :( So I just contacted LG (since the TV is less than 14 days old) and they are sending out a technical guy who will identify the problem and make sure it will work (so said the person on the phone....) but I guess they won't open the head of the TV and replace the ARC input with another one... let's see...
Please do post the results of the LG visit. A lot of potential buyers will be interested in this.
Yeah of course - I will keep this thread updated (Y)
Is this a problem worldwide ?Where are you guys situated?
Hi,Yes, it is a worldwide issue. I just had a visit from a LG-supporter today and he changed the motherboard on the TV, didn't resolve the issue - so some LG 2019 models ain't 110% compatible with the stage :(
Hi.
Witch sourc you us When you Get the problem?
is the problem there only on hdmi sourc? Or also with app on the LG tv?
interested to know, because if its only on hdmi connected sourc like Apple TV or 3 parts setup box. I maybe have an idé..
Have you try to change HDMI cable? And did you us the hdmi cable that came included the Stage?
I searc on lg forum, and it seems this problem have Been a while with the LG TV. but this https://lgcommunity.us.com/discussion/1408/solved-arc-sound-dropout-problem seems to work with change the hdmi cable.
so shy people her blame B&O before you guys realy not sure its Stage that is the problem, i dident see it could be Stage problem, but people her seems to blame on b&o before its more information. This could be LG or HDMI cable problem.
Hi,It works fine using bluetooth, TuneIn and so on, but the lags come watching TV like LIVE-tv, netflix, YouTube, whatever. I've tried directly setup with the HDMI cable which came with the stage from the stage ARC-input to the HDMI ARC input, and it does this lag, I tried with 3 different cables, a 4K 2,0 HDMI cable, a discount HDMI 4k cable and the original with the stage - none of them works, I even tried with the HDMI cable there is being used on the Apple TV (which works just perfect!) I had a visit form a LG supporter yesterday who changed the motherboard, but this didn't solve the problem.
It is not a problem with the stage (we've figured) but with the ARC output the stage is giving the LG tv - there are some softwares that can't be readen by each other. (N)
The problem is the HDMI ARC connection. When my DVD was connected to the normal HDMI there was no interference. Bluetooth was fine. And the 3.5mm connection was also fine. I hope the issue gets resolved. I have gone back to using stereo amp and bookshelf speakers. And since I am only interested in music concerts and opera on DVD I am happy to give up the sound effects for movies. This was my first use of a soundbar (the two stages I bought had the same problem) I’m not now interested in trying any others. These problems are not just B&O/LG. The internet is full of compatibility tales of woe in relation to soundbars. It’s probably because there is not an industry wide standard HDMI ARC.
Have you connect a set up box to HDMI - A on stage, or directly to HDMI on the LG TV?
It seem its have been reported a case, if you connect chromecast video to HDMI - A on the stage, work around is connect it directly to LG screen.
I recommend people to share this case directly in the B&O app or true the B&O dealer you both the stage so more information can get to B&O. You can send log file directly in the B&O app, on the product and describe which source it on, and if its only if you connect to HDMI, or its also integrated apps in lg. if you not already done that..
I got four USB inputs on the TV.
1. Using this for Apple TV 4K
2. HDMI ARC using this for the Stage
3. Nothing being used
4. Nothing being used
The Stage is setup directly from the Stage HDMI-TV to HDMI ARC on the TV. Can I connect it to the Apple TV, and then the apple transfer the sound to the tv?
I think you meen HDMI and not USB?
HDMI 1 Apple TV
HDMI 2 with ARC- Connect down to Stage on HDMI TV on stage.
HDMI 3 and 4 you not use.
Is the drop out sound on apple tv, or apps on LG tv? or both?
Is the drop out there when you play music sources true beosound stage (bluetooth, airplay2, tunein radio?)
Oh sorry, yeah I do mean HDMI and not USB. The sound drops is on both TV-apps and Apple TV.The sound do not drop using bluetooth, tune in and such.

I just want the lags to disappear. Yes, I do have two HDMI options in the Stage, and the first HDMI input is called HDMI TV and the other one is calling TV in.I have the HDMI TV from the stage into the TV in HDMI 2 which is ARC.Yeah okay, just wanted to know if it made any difference connecting ATV to Stage and then into the TV
Have you try to connect apple tv directly to HDMI A on the stage instead, make thats any different?
But it also strange it drop out of sound in the apps on the TV also.
Of course you have reset your stage to factory would i think, and the tv :) But if not try that also.
If nothing of this work, i would recommend you to send log fil to B&O true the B&O app, and explain your setup and what you have trie, and the drop out is not in music source, only with video source true the LG tv and HDMI source. So B&O can analyse it. give them also information of time and date and source its drop out before you send the logfil. Time and date is important they can go directly into the log at the specific time you have the drop out, and see what it can be. :)

Good to know there is someone having same issue as me. I am having same issue as you mentioned. Audio cuts out for 1 second or so and then resumes but video keeps playing. No issue with cable and I have the stage connect via HDMI ARC to samsung Qled 2019 model TV. I have Apple TV 4K connected to Stage directly and issue happens randomly. I emailed support but might take a lot of back and forth. Also I checked critical logs of Stage but did not find anything logged there either.

I've occasionally had this issue with the Stage. Not sure I'd describe it as a full second though. More like a millisecond cut-out and then continues to play as normal for a few minutes. It's like it has to reset the audio.
agp2572. Your issue might be in one of the HDMI cables. If you’ve eliminated that as the source, you can try connecting the Apple TV to the Samsung and the Samsung audio out to the Stage. IF you don’t get the dropouts then something in the HDMI Arc implementation between the Apple TV and Stage is the issue. I am currently using my Stage as a music speaker only. However, I did have it hooked up to my Sony OLED initially and luckily worked with no issues.
Anyway, HomePods in stereo mode for surrounds can sound pretty impressive because of their ability to calibrate the audio for the room and listener.
B&O in my life 😊:
After installing my Beosound Stage in the full setup with a LG C9 55 a few weeks ago I also experienced audio troubles via HDMI ARC. It turned out I used a mediocre HDMI cable I had lying around already. When I swapped it for the HDMI supplied with the Stage everything worked perfect.
After reading alot on this topic I now know that HDMI arc and eARC often cause people trouble no matter what brand of gear their are trying to connect. Most often the HDMI cable is to blame and unfortunately several people report finally finding an HDMI cable working and then after a year or so it starts making quirks again. Maybe due to the terminals oxidizing or what have you.
People report buying cheap cables from Amazon and they sometimes work. Others buy the Apple TV recommended Belkin cable and it sometimes work.
I am very happy with my Stage now that I finally managed to connect it according to B&O recommendations.
