Using a Pico remote

I’ve just added a Lutron Pico remote as triggers for BLGW macros. I’m using this as a remote to set next to my jacuzzi tub. I programmed buttons for BeoSound 9000 CD, TuneIn, next, previous, and standby to control a BeoPlay M5 in the jacuzzi area. Why use a Pico? Because it’s an inexpensive $15 remote that’s ideal for a wet area. Much safer than risking destroying a BeoRemote One! You can also attach it to a non-skid pedestal stand (as shown). I can see more good uses for this inexpensive remote. This is also offered in black and in audio system button label version (the audio version is intended for use with a Sonos system - but easily programmable for B&O). This can also be wall-mounted. It works via the RadioRa 2 system.

I am a huge fan of the Pico remote generally, but also have at least one in every room where I have a BeoLink Multiroom product. I have a Control4 system in place and a Lutron Homeworks system for lighting & shades and use the Picos to join, adjust volume & mute, and place the product in standby. Such a simple and inexpensive (provided you already have Lutron installed!) way to control B&O and it's been bulletproof for nearly a year since I set it up. 

I'll also say that as a Control4 integrator, the "join" command is very unique across the industry and all other systems require some very complex conditional programming to join whatever source is playing in another room. I'm almost in disbelief that such an obvious command isn't fundamental in every multi-room audio system, but there you go!

I like the idea of assigning the "join" command to a button. How do you control the volume? BLGW macros for using continuous presses for controlling volume are usually not recommended because the system could lose contact and the volume could blast out of control. Is this where the Control4 integration makes volume control more solid?

I've never tried this programming with a BLGW, but the drivers for Control4 are among the best I've seen for granular device control even though content browsing isn't available. 

Basically I've written the program to "pulse" volume up or down three times with each press. I find this to be perfect for quickly raising and lowering from a keypad. I also have the center Pico button set to toggle Mute. 

BTW, I recently became certified as a RadioRa2 installer! I have no intention of giving up my day-job as a lawyer fighting for LGBT causes. I just did it to have access to the programming software -- and to offer guidance to my fellow BeoWorlders.

That sounds terrific, Jeff. I plan on slowly phasing out of the industry over the next five years or so and maintaining access to programming software for at least my own systems weighs heavily on me! I feel like I'll always need to dangle a toe in the industry. Hopefully I've made enough friends along the way to keep me up to date (-:

I'd like to use the Pico remotes with BLGW too, but have to use the Ra2 Select since I'm in Europe. Has anyone successfully programmed the Pico remotes with the Ra2 Select Main Repeater?
