Can anyone confirm the store closure inPortland?  B&O’s website lists it as active; Yelp and Apple Maps show it as ‘closed.’  I’m unable to reach the store via phone.

I don't know the area but I bet they are closed.  Not sure how you searched B&O’s website, but www.bang-olufsen.com/en/find-store tells me it cannot locate any stores and suggests Vancouver (B.C, not WA!) as the nearest.  (As of June 2019 Google maps showed the logo on the door and stock inside the windows at 1042 NW Overton St.  They claimed their Yelp listing so its phone number (503) 224-9333 was probably correct, but is not in service now.)

Thanks for the research.  Timing is apparently everything; I checked the B&O store locator just yesterday morning, and there was a listing for the Portland store - it's where I got the phone number to call.  I also got the not-in-service tone. I can't easily drive by to inspect.  I'm not that close to Portland...but then I'm not that close to SoCal either.  It's a plane flight either way.

Sad news if they've closed up shop.
