My in-laws own a BV7 40 MK6 with full surround sound, BS4 with BL6000 in an adjoining room and a BV10/32 in master bedroom.

They recently took out a BC6 26 that had BL3 connected in the Family Room and replaced this with a Horizon 40”. As this no longer had ML they were a bit disappointed they couldn’t link the whole house as before.

This Christmas I gave them the gift of music. I installed a Beosound Core into the BS4 line input so this fed the ML audio, and with the power of the Join button over NL the Horizon could now “join” the party, so once again there was integrated audio across the home without the need to rewire or add more cables.

Happy family with Christmas music playing everywhere again!

Is there any problem with the music being out of synch? Your solution is a possibility for me to use if net link and master link rooms would be in synch.

Nice work around. In addition you could consider to add a NL/ML converter to the Horizon and have full ML capability in the setup again. Now only the Core source can be joined via NL protocol on the Horizon, with the converter all ML sources (if any) can also be joined by the Horizon.

Second hand they are around €350-€450.

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

I simply adjusted the wired/wireless delay to 50/200 from 50/1000 default and it works beautifully. Absolutely no need for an NL/ML convertor, if I want to skip a track on the Horizon I can use the Beoremote 1 to step up to the next one.

The CD player gets very little use nowadays so there wasn’t the need to have the NL convertor, the idea was to get Deezer or Airplay around the home and it just worked. Something that’s not published in any of the how to guides!

I have done the same for years with my Essence MK2 - works well.

However, you will need to use the Bang & Olufsen app or a BROne/bt connected to the Core in order to control pause, skip etc or choose/change the radio station, when you listen in the ML chain.
Not everyone wants to engage a BV/the Horizon, when listening to music or radio in another room.
Besides, I wanted to be able to use the CD-player (and on rare nostalgic moments the turntable) in any room - therefore I got the ML/NL Converter.........gives me a much more coherent control of the setup.
But your idea is good and in many cases fully sufficient - especially if you are one of those, who just want the same music playing in every room.
MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV
