I own a mint Beogram CDX.which has worked perfectly for many years, I love the sound of the CDX, much smoother and warm than that from my 9000 MKIII.

Recently when I select play, the glass lid does not totally close - it needs a very gentle touch on the left hand lower corner to fully close and initiate playing of the CD. On close examination, it appears that the glass lid is just touching the glass facia on that side by a tiny amount which prevents it fully closing.

How can I adjust the lid to minutely adjust the clearance and rectify this problem?

A common problem is, that the lid actually closes all the way but the lid motor isn't stopped fast enough by the electronics, so the mech. actually
gets into the lifting sequence and lift the lid a little again before coming to a stop.
The cure for this is to replace the capacitor (68uF or so) on the lid motor control board.

If the belt is slipping it must of course be replaced, but in these cases the symptom is usually that the lid can't open without a helping hand.
