he takes the cheap way, cheap products but for the 8002 price. I saw the speakers on spanish forum in high quality they look like 3rd chinese company speakers. Half round blobs , passive coax, with a trash bin like woofer and amps.
That's fantastic news.
I knew that the only way to push big bass from small enclosure without making the midrange sound congested is by executing a three way but having the beolab 12 series replace three distinctively beautiful designed loudspeakers sounds either lazy or cost cutting to me.
B&O should start branding like most electronic manufacturers do. Offer different sub brands that provides different levels of quality, All that I am seeing that is done in the beolab series seem to be simply providing more bass and loudness level as you go up the range. How about those who wants maximum quality instead of quantity? I think there's a major marketing flaw there. The electronic industry is thriving and people are getting more educated about technology. It's time or B&O to stop holding back. Anyway perhaps different beo ranges for different demands in terms of quality? I know there's the beoplay but the beolab and vision range just feel confused.
Any news about these babies ?
Gatex, Can you post the link of the Spanish forum, please ? Thank you 😃
Oh please don't. Elipson and Anthony Gallo is already on top of the spherical speaker technology food chain. It will make B&O look desperate.
And news flash Anthony Gallo is revamping the spherical speaker line with a novel flat full range driver technology so.... It will be tough competition.
Elipson is gaining a lot of traction in European markets and the fact that they have speakers with acoustic lenses way before B&O with some of the vintage models now in auction. B&O will only further validate Elipson's dominance in the market.
wonderfulelectric: Anyone knows what is Dual loop 3? I think B&O needs to tighten up their act with Icepower because with Hypex Ncore technology out and Direct Digital Amplifiers with distortion levels that equals high end DACs.

Thanks!
Definitely much much reduced distortion in the high frequency regions as compared to the first gen ASP series.
Take a look at the new 80 watt modules too if you have the chance. You will see the same trend too. They are definitely not kidding in terms of increased smoothness and resolution in the mids and highs as compared to the old gen though because I have the Lab3s (2010 make) and the A9 and I prefer the mids and highs of the A9 even though the mids have less body. A lot less harsh for sure! Believe it or not there is more detail in the mids of the A9 than that of the Lab3s. I only started investigating on the new Icepower modules after listening just to make sure I am judging the sound correctly. Whoever says amplification isn't important as the drivers?
I definitely foresee an overhaul in the product range.
Believe it or not the first gen Icepower amps have a ton of audiophile followings. But I could never stand the sharp sound reproduction! There was this once way back in 2008 I was in a showroom where they were demonstrating Thiel's award-winning flagship loudspeakers with the top of the line Bel Canto Mono amps with built-in IceAmps and linear power supply. I couldn't wait to get the purchase of my Olive Music player over and done with. It was quite traumatic.
Maybe with the improved high frequency response manufacturers will readopt Icepower to activate the mid and high sections of their active monitors? (Focal, Adam ,Pioneer and many others were totally into Icepower when it was first launched but subsequently dropped it like a hot rock)
Then again there is Hypex. Competition is tough!
But I know Elipson and some others are starting to use Icepower for the first time though.
