Hi all,
I have some outdoor speakers and in order to keep them in the "link" system, I have the following setup.
A Beosound Core is connected to my network via Ethernet and to a Beolink Passive amplifier using a Powerlink cable (RJ45 on the Core side, DIN on the Beolink Passive side). Then two conventional speaker cables go to each of my waterproof passive speakers outside. Then I can play any source from the my B&O equipment or stream some Spotify music via the Core. Everything works very well, except that every so often, it does not work. Everything in Spotify looks like it is playing normally, but it does not.
In order to make it work, I have to unplug the Powerlink cable DIN connection on the Beolink Passive and plug it back, then I hear the "click" that means that the Beolink Passive amplifier detects some input and switches on.
I don't think the problem comes from the Beosound Core side as I have connected a pair of BL3 to it instead of the Beolink Passive and it worked fine for a few weeks, and I never have any problem with it in this setup.
I also swapped with another core and i have the same problem. This leads me to think it is not a Core problem...
Any ideas? Dodgy or wrongly configured Beolink Passive ? Some setting to enter in the Core?
Thanks.
Regards,
Christian

For this to work stable you will need another cable solution.
Have a look here:

P.S. There is nothing wrong with your Core!

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks for your reply. But there is no jack output on the Core. Just Powerlink and optical.

You need to make a custome din-rj45 powerlink cable to Get this work.
need to cut one off the 8 pin in the din connector to Get it work properly. (not sure witch one) so go to your closest b&o shop and Ask they to make the cable you need:)
Oh sory, sorry.....wrong link ;-(
Try this one:

Thanks for your reply. However I am confused as there is no aux 5 pin input on my beolink passive. The only inputs are masterlink and Powerlink (din). There is also an infrared port and speaker connections.

IMO the text on the SoundsHeavenly site is a bit confusing.
Please contact Steve for further informations.
I am sure that he will make the cable in the length that you need.....should you want one from him.
Hi cge01
Try soldering wire from pin 4 to pin 1. Then hopefully your BeoLink Passive will trigge.
Peter Pan: Hi cge01 Try soldering wire from pin 4 to pin 1. Then hopefully your BeoLink Passive will trigge.
That is the DIY solution.....if that is something that you can?
Thanks. I have contacted Steve and he has updated the text on the website. I will go for the cable you mentioned. Thanks.
Hi,
Sorry for the error in my website listing, this is now corrected. I am happy to build these cables for you - please contact me directly if the website shows "out of stock" as I make these items to special order on request.
Kind regards, Steve.
