I'm trying to pull my Beocord 900 apart to get to the PCB. I am mostly loose, but can't seem to get it all free of the case. Is there instructions anywhere on how to get it apart? I only have the schematic included in the case. It looks a bit like maybe the sides need to come off, but I am unsure how it is meant to come apart, so asking before I break anything, as it is basically in good condition and will clean up well.

Normally you won't take out the PCB. It wasn't designed to be taken out.Are you sure, you have to?

Need to replace some caps and a couple of resistors. Can't see how else I could do that without the board coming out, or at least the case outer coming off.
You can take off the top plate, the bottom plate and the tape drive.
Oh right! There were 4 screws but they are so rusted and black they look just like the rubber. One of them actually just sheared off...
From somewhere 2 pieces of black plastic fell out, and nowhere obvious that they belong...

The large part is about 18-19mm.
From memory (I don't see Beocord 900s every day...);Large part goes on the record/playback switch, catches a flat metal "fork" under the tape drive and helps activate the switch when RECORD is pressed.Small part goes between the front panel rails - one each side.
Thanks for that, info on these is a bit thin on the ground. Either not popular or not many still going? I suspect it might actually be a pretty decent thing when fixed.
They are getting rare.For being some of the earliest cassettedecks (at least from B&O), well-serviced ones are surprisingly good.
I might have some questions coming up on how to adjust trim pots etc. Confidence in this thing being good, or stupidity, led to me ordering a bunch of caps and bits and pieces for it, and the Beocord 8000 today. Rubbers might need attention, but I'll wait until I see how it kicks over first.
