Looks interesting. I wonder if it has a kinetic element. Like, does the top rise up or something? With a name like Balance I expect it to do something.

Maybe the top part sways in time to the music like one of those hula dancer dolls you put on the dash of your car...

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
My initial thoughts are i don't like it. It's not their best design effort.
Beozip:my first thought was .... it´s a smoothie mixer
Millemissen:First impression from the pics.......it blends perfectly
I´m told the speaker has a total of 450w , like A9 MKII.

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
mr_anders_son:It will cost aprox 2000€
The listprice is 2250,00 € in Germany
upside a touchpad ... and the microphones ...
nothing to turn/rotate/roll/spin like the BS1 or BS2 or M5
and the underside ....
sorry for the bad pictures
at least, thanks to you, we have some and some impressions of what to deal with ;-)
Sorry for the duplicates..
I quite like the look of it. It's again something special and can imagine it to be quite powerful. And as a person who never grew to the looks of the Bs1 or 2 this is really nice.
On the other hand, we have enough of this type of speakers and i would rather appreciate something more useful / something that isn't there, like a real audiomaster, or beosystem 5'ish.
Am I the only one surprised by the global lack of advertising on B&O web site in particular and visibility all around the web in general?
Thank you Beozip, you're ahead of everybody including Bang & Olufsen themselves!
Hi,
Please don't worry, there will be more details within the next few days - I will have a video review on my YouTube channel very soon at youtube.com/soundsheavenlycables (sorry I can't say more at the moment, please bear with me and all will become clear soon!)
Kind regards, Steve.

Hiort:Looks quite big so could deliver a big sound.
It does.
My dealer surprised me by firing up the Balance "which stands covered by a blanket, a bit hidden".My first thought when I turned around was "Why starts that Edge playing?" (which is placed about 3 meters away).
Even covered by a blanket, it plays loud (and deep.)
Seems their is a lot connections port in it, more about that/them???
Donbirger: Seems their is a lot connections port in it, more about that/them???
From left to right as far as I can distinguish:
1 - I dont know.2 - USB3 - Aux IN.4 - Power5/6 - Ethernet
Looks like 2x Ethernet at right. Maybe for stereo pairing
That top surface looks interesting. Judging by the marks, volume is adjusted by a circular motion. Reminds me of a giant H9 touch surface.
Fundamentally, it has an air of a beefed up S3 quality to it - in terms of function and purpose.
At 2250,00 €, that's pretty steep when you start looking at what else is on offer (from B&O themselves, not competitors), in which case, I'm quite interested to get the full picture once it's officially announced.
Form wise, I pray this isn't B&O trying to "catch up" with Homepod, Echo Studio, Sound X, etc.

B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.
my dealer told me this is not a multi-room speaker. can it be true?
beobeo2021:my dealer told me this is not a multi-room speaker. can it be true?
I'm sure it sound good, but it looks to me someone stacked an urn on top of a round jar. A fact not helped by the two aluminium lids...

How can you see that the 5/6 are ‘Ethernet’ on that picture....I can’t?
What I seem to see are two identical signs underneath < >
We probably have to wait for better pics (or the specs) to know what this is.

Hummm, let me think… Because I've got better eyes? Because I use photoshop? Because a RJ45 socket labelled <•••> has great chances to be ethernet on a connected speaker and then the one just next with the same label has also great chances to be the same port? Pick any reason you like
People is guessing and posting and that's what's make a forum alive. You can wait as much as you want to post all the love you feel for the product, I won't and make guesses with the risk of being wrong. That's all the fun of it!
Of course to be fair, I have to agree that usually B&O don't label Ethernet sockets with the <•••> sign. Would you forgive me MM?
Glad that you want to be fair ;-))
Guessing might be fun....so go on.
It’s not my way - I prefer informations.

I can just about see 2 ethernet sockets which look like they have the 2 LEDs per socket.

Thanks Matador, my eyes weren't deceiving me
Thanks matador43 - thats better!
I see two RJ45 connections - which could have different purposes = Ethernet, PowerLink, Digital PowerLink, ir eye.............
Now we can start wondering - or guessing - what the <...> labels beneth could mean.
Millemissen: Now we can start wondering - or guessing - what the <...> labels beneth could mean.
I would randomly and phantasmagorically guess that power link wouldn't make sense for a single point, multi-room speaker. Even more when current Beolab lineup has Wisa.IR eye (back from the 90's), wouldn't make sense either when currently sold remote may be Bluetooth and as far as i know there's is not much modern B&O stuff responding to IR.
But all that said, maybe that would be a stupid to think that one socket would be WAN and the other LAN, as Apple did with the Airport express when they figured out that the old AE with one RJ45 monopolized the ethernet connection or needed a router to use the LAN along with Airplay and then add a second ethernet port to the 2nd gen AE. Even more when <•••> is a common identification for network socket.
Of course that would be total Sci-Fi as B&O is very well know for its Wi-Fi reliability and nobody never had to choose between plugging an ugly router, or choose which of the computer or the metal musical cone will benefit of the wall wired connection speed at the expense of the other device stuck at wifi ratings.
Randomly and phantasmagorically of course, just to increase my messages counter…
Bang and Olufsen buy-in oe parts/schematics and finetunes this to their liking. Two ethernet ports would probably mean they sources a new ‘base’ for the coming years. Hoping for stability in software, networking and hardware.
That's the icon that (at least) Apple use for ethernet.
A new pricelist in Germany starting from 1. March 2020
There is only an icon with the BeoSound Balance .... NO Price und NO Text .....

Millemissen: I see two RJ45 connections - which could have different purposes = Ethernet, PowerLink, Digital PowerLink, ir eye.............
I think it's obvious that one of them will be ethernet. Where Wireless is an issue, it's needed and software updates are done via ethernet at repairshops. All the latest products have ethernet sockets.

Fl_ip: Its 2x ethernet, so you have the option to connect an extra etherner device without the need to run 2 cables

An internal switch? I would be very surprised... No other B&O product has 2x ethernet for networking.
