BeoPlay V1 - 40 type 9501 - Losing picture after a while while keeping sound

Bought about seven years ago. The set loses its picture (dark screen) but not sound after about an hour whether the set is fed by a DVD or by a TV decoder & Orange Livebox. Does not work again until left alone overnight. Resetting decoder or DVD does not help.
Does anybody have this problem. Set costed E4000 when bought! It looks like the set fails when it gets hot. Is it a feature for built-in obsolescence?

@Bernard123 - did you figure out what is going on (besides just getting hot) or figure out how to fix it? 

Seems like our V1 just hit the same problem. We can hear the sound (from navigating the Roku) but no picture.
