Hi everyone, I guess everything is in the subject...

I have a MX7000 with a 1.1 firmware, meaning it's one of the oldest MX7000.

I had the Beolink 1000 remote  and couldn't get in the service menu... I need to get in there in order to fix the geometry that is completely far out on the left side.

I bought a Beo4 in order to access the Service Menu... But I fear the 1+1+go won't work either because the firmware is too old. I'm I right?

I would really appreciate a little help with this, as I've been looking all over the web and even called B&O here in Norway without any luck.

Thanks!

I`m not sure about an MX7000, but every Beovision I know got it`s Service Menu under MENU - 0 - 0 - GO.

Hi Stefan

Thank you for your answer.

Yes I tried MENU - 0 - 0 - GO with the Beolink 1000, all I get is "Software 1.1" appearing, and no access whatsoever to any menu.

Although on the Beolink 1000 remote, it's "Play" instead of "Go", but that should be the same result... And it's not.

The Tv model is MX7000, SW1.1, type 33/94, serial number ends with MKII, if that helps...

Hi,

I just had a look into the service manual of the late MX7000. You can download it from Beoworld as a silver- or gold member.

Page 94 describes how to enter the service mode to make picture- and geometrical adjustments. You have to press TV and short-circuit the service mode plug...(?). So there is no easy-to-access service menu.

Hope this helps

Thanks a lot! Worked perfectly.

I guess I bought a Beo4 for nothing...

For those who want to do the same thing it's very easy: You have to be on TV mode. Just take out the back of the TV (4 screws) and short-circuit the 2 pins located 5cm over the middle of the 2 scarts (they're easy to find, "Service mode" is written below). You can use the top of the screwdriver to short-circuit, remove it after 2sec and the service menu will appear.

Thanks again, made my day!

btw, if someone has the translation of everything that's in the service menu, that would be great.

Cheers

All my MXs enter the service menu when you key in MENU - 1 - 1 - GO on the remote (the 0-0 sequence only shows the software version, as you mentioned). I suspect this is a feature of the later software versions, though - it's possible that with 1.x you really need to short the service mode jumper inside the telly.

Anyway, the geometry problem is probably due to tired components and fixing it through the service menu might not be possible (or a lasting solution). Make notes of all original values before you change anything.
