I received my Beosound Stage (smoke oak and grey version ordered online from B&O) and set it up just for music in my dining room area. Not only does the speaker look great but the audio quality is much better than what I expected at this price point. I am currently using it purely as a music speaker with AirPlay 2.
At the starting price of $1750 this is truly an excellent value. The build quality is top notch.
B&O in my life 😊:
Glad to hear it

Unfortunately I am unable to post any pictures. I have tried 🤷♂️ Anyway, I have it flat on a long side table. It looks great, but I am really impressed with the audio quality. I actually prefer it to my Mk2 A9.

How did you try? You'll have to upload your pictures to Beoworld first. Go to your profile: click on your name (upper right corner). Go to "My files".Then click "Choose file" - a window opens, and you can search for the picture you want. Then "Add file".Then, when you write a post and want to want to insert your picture- click on "insert media". It is as simple as that.
....or, click the Reply button, then Options, then Add/Update - and choose a picture following the instructions there.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
In my case, I was able to upload the files to my account on Beoworld but then when I try to add the browser just hangs and does not show my images. I’ll try again.

Same here on Safari for mac os. Then:
- Open your image on a different browser window.
- Right Click and click on "copy image link" or similar (I'm on french OS);
- Back in the compose window, click on the "insert media" icon (the green little movie frame).
- Choose "from URL" and paste the link in the relevant field.
Done!
For single image, just follow MM procedure. For multiple, follow mine.
Hope this helps.

Great to hear this. Are you using it as a standalone without a screen?
Vähintään yhdeksänkymmentä prosenttia suomalainen!
Yes. I was planning on buying a BS 1 and BS2 but then bought the BS Stage instead. I might hook it up to a screen in future. But even as a standalone speaker it sounds really good.
I'm actually also glad to hear this. I do hope this will remain in production for a while. Does basic [virtual] surround and Atmos actually sound convincing? I'm contemplating getting one... although I don't really have the need for it haha.
I wish that there was the ability to add physical surround speakers if the user so desires, kind of what Sonos has been doing. Couple of BS1's in the back? That'd be sweeeeet!

I was thinking the same. When I went to see the local dealer he told me he had no idea if the speaker would work as a standalone. Good to hear you can use the Stage as such.

I'm still hoping for a version of this, with a built in surround decoder for other speakers. But than I have to talk to the financial minister of the house :-/
Aside from this, what do think sounds better, the Beosound-stage or a set of Beolab 1's (with additional sub) attached to a screen?
Br
A soundbar for ‘imaging the soundstage’ in a 2.0 channel recording....hmmmm!
I guess for that you’d be better off with a set of R/L speakers, well placed in a suitable room and with the right spot for you to sit.
Can’t think that this was a main point when making this soundbar (or any soundbar for that matter).
By the way - no chair, no problem......just stand up ;-)))
I have a Sony 65 Inch OLED TV connected to an Apple TV 4K that supports Dolby Atmos and my original intention was to connect the Stage to the TV. However, TV now is connected to a pair of BeoLab 8000 + BL 2 via the variable volume line-in (which the Sony has). So when I got the Stage, I was excited to try it out on it’s on and hence why I set it up on my dining room and I am thinking of using it as a stand-alone speaker! It’s incredible how full the sound is from such a relatively small system. I have no doubt it would be even better with the TV.
In general I had stopped buying B&O gear for around 10 years but I really like their new connected speakers (including the Core). They perform flawlessly for me. They are really good value and I am hoping to get the Anthracite BS 1 that I ordered from the B&O website.
When in Music mode I still have "Upmix" and "Virtualize" switched on. Just tested Jean-Michel Jarre's Magnetic Fields and it sounds fabulous, I am sitting 2 meters away from the wall-positioned Stage (TV) and when I close my eyes I have an impression of sounds coming from the (sound)stage width of 3-4 meters. Don't know if that helps.
NB: I upgraded my Deezer to Hi-Fi streaming quality and I really recommend it.
Have bought one myself. Truly good product in a very good price. Let's hope a version with surround decoding and speakers is on its way!
Yes, but it doesn't adjust the audio to account for being vertically mounted.
So no, not really.
Henryk tried it I think - said it sounded not good.
Aussie Michael:Can you mount the stage vertically and say use it as a dining room speaker ?
Sandyb:Yes, but it doesn't adjust the audio to account for being vertically mounted. So no, not really. Henryk tried it I think - said it sounded not good.
Just place it horizontal - on a shelf or wallmounted.....and you are certainly good to go.
