Just found this forum and this my first post here so 'Hi' to everyone.

My much loved but now old Avant 32 DVD TV from 2002 is on its last legs so I'm thinking of getting an Eclipse 55 TV.

My original supplier, B&O Nottingham, closed a few years ago and the Lincoln/Sheffield/Leicester dealer also closed last year.

Been talking to B&O Derby who assure me that there's no connectivity issues with the Eclipse to my existing BeoLab 1's, 6000's & sub 2 speakers. And I understand that the MasterLink connectivity to my 9000 CD + BeoLab 8000 speakers in another room won't function as previously but I already have the BeoSound Essence 2 for streaming music etc and I'm happy with that.

I've read of some initial software glitches with the Eclipse when it was launched but I'm assuming that they've been sorted now but any user feedback would be gratefully appreciated on both the Eclipse 55 TV and the service levels experienced with B&O Derby.

And I don't do 'i' products so Apple TV is of interest to me.

Thanks in anticipation.

Best B&O tv I’ve ever owned having gone from BV3, BV7, Avant and now Eclipse. Most reliable as well. Not missed a beat in my 1.5 years of ownership.

The BV7 had shocking software. The Avant has some hardware issues.

The Eclipse uses reliable LG technology in its core video systems, with the main B&O components being limited to the sound system. Again, this is based on the current reliable networked audio system that exists in all their current systems.

I have been very happy with my Eclipse.  No real software errors to speak of in my ~2 years of ownership.  Great sound, great picture.

Currently you might have 2 options. One is the Eclipse if you need the floor stand. But if you are looking to walk mount the other option is an LG OLED with the BS Stage. The LG is more likely to get firmware updates and no reason the BS Core won’t work in the same way as an Eclipse with the rest of your B&O system. My 2 cents worth...

does the Eclipse audio support Dolby Atmos like the BS Stage?

You can’t connect a stage and bl1/6000 all at the same time. Only an eclipse will work with external speakers and or surround. Or a harmony ofcourse Stick out tongue
