I switched from Chromecast to Airplay streaming for some reason.
Unfortunately I had to realize that the display at my Beosound 35 does NOT show the track and artist name anymore. Instead you see the really valuable information „AirPlay“. Even with the Bang&Olufsen App, this information is not displayed as long as streaming to the Beosound 35. When I stream to my Beosound Core via Airplay, I get at least the track and artist name shown within the B&O app. Unfortunately not the album cover art as used to using Chromecast (for Beosound 35 AND Beosound Core).
Is this a bug or a feature? That you get more information at the B&O app using a Beosound Core instead of a Beosound 35? Not talking about the album cover art.
Probably I have to get used to the fact that Bang & Olufsen discontinues products before they are fully developed!
Whatever feature you look at, it is always soooo disappointing and frustrating, my Bang & Olufsen investment is the worst I ever did :(
Or did I miss to turn on something somewhere hidden in the deep deep setup menus of my B&O products?
On my core using AirPlay on Core it A9 shows album, song, artist but no album cover on the App. But when I am using AirPlay I am not using the B&O App. The music app of choice I am using has all the info I need.. I guess the issue is if you’re using the B&O App to stream content...
B&O in my life 😊:
Just to make sure I understand the issue. The BeoSound 35 and Core are the worst investment you’ve ever made because on the Beosound 35 you no longer get the artist info with AirPlay?
The benefit of AirPlay 2 is that you can stream across multiple rooms with no sync delay using WiFi and voice control with pretty high audio quality. In my case it has worked flawlessly across all B&O devices I own. There are not many if any AirPlay 2 audio devices that can beat the current lineup of Beosound speakers - including the 35. I agree the Core is expensive but in my case, I compared it to a Node 2i (high regraded DAC) and the score performs very well while having a much smaller footprint and looking nicer. When you are using AirPlay 2, the album information is displayed in the music app you are using sync has Apple Music or Spotify etc. the idea that it should also be on the B&O App does not seem like a big deal to me. But that is just my humble opinion.
I agree the B&O App isn’t the best streaming app, but you have the option to use others apps and the audio quality isn’t effected in any way. In my experience I find that B&O products currently work very well with the Apple ecosystem.
Just curious what were you looking to get instead of your B&O speakers?
Yes it is the worst investment, considering the money I paid and the quality I got! I decided to buy the Beosound 35 mainly because of the display. I do not need a display for displaying “Airplay”!
Why is Beosound 35 able to display track name and artist name at the integrated display when using Chromecast but not when using AirPlay?
In both music streaming protocols the necessary meta data information are available. That are typical amateur errors, OK for low cost products. But from a high priced B&O product, I expect similar features what ever streaming protocol I am using!

I have to agree with you here. There is nothing unreasonable in what you write.
