Hi. I’ve had a beomaster 2400 for about ten years now. I never touch the balance slider, but it seems to have gone bad. It’s incredibly staticy which makes my speakers crackly. The right channel also goes out and I have to position the slider just right to get it back. Does need a cleaning or a replacement? And if replacement then with what (hopefully off the shelf) part?
Next, the lamps. I replaced these not long after I got the amp. Three of the bulbs have died, the treble, bass, and number 3 preset. I understand these are 12v t1 bulbs. Would I be able to replace them with thieve 12v leds? They seem to be direct replacements for automotive displace backlights. https://www.amazon.com/Partsam-4-7mm-12v-Indicator-Speedometer-Backlight/dp/B011E8T6ME/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=12+volt+mini+light+bulbs&qid=1581998395&sr=8-6
The potentiometer issue is well-known.The solution is here:https://beoparts.com/2018/01/13/beomaster-1900-2400-potentiometer-repair-kit/
A lamp kit is also available, containing the correct type and wattage of lamps - ask!
The lamps are integrated parts of the circuitry; The two volume indicator lamps form part of the balancing of the volume readout,The two tuning lamps form part of the balancing of the discriminator readout,The three tonecontrol/balance lamps bleeds down the 15V supply when going into standbyThe source indicators form part of the circuit muting between source switching.LEDs won't work.
