Hi there,

has anyone of you used the Redline 7000/140 speakers with a cona?

Is this a good idea?

Regards and thanks

Chris

The Cona is designed to work with the C/CX series of small bookshelf speakers, and with them it does its job.

I suspect that the biggest RLs themselves will go lower than a Cona, so it's not going to add much of anything. But of course worth a try, if you already have all these!

I tried it, maybe for a total of 2 albums. Like Mika said the RLs on their own seem to go deeper than the cona and the combo sounded like it had less of a low end and an odd mid-range. I didn’t spend time trying to optimize the room setup/move the RLs around though.

Thank you very much.

I really appreciate your help.

Do you use your redline speakers with loudness on or without?

Hi Chris,

I tried some RL6000s with a Cona and I didn’t think it made much difference at all. This was connected to a Beocenter 8500 and Loudness was on. Speakers were wall mounted.

Beocenter 8500 / Beolab 4000 / Beosystem 5500 / Beolab 8000 / Beogram 2000 / Beosound 8 / Beovision 6-26 / Beovision MX4000 / Beomaster 1900-1 / Beovox CX50 / Beoplay H4 / Beoplay A1 / Beocom 1401 x2

Thanks a lot.

What do you think about the sound of the redline 140/7000?

Do you like the sound? Can you describe what you think about these speakers?

I use them with a beomaster 5000.

Everyday I spend some time with my redlines.

For a speaker of their size, they don't have a lot of bass. But they can go deep, if you use loudness.

So I use loudness when the volume is around 20 (Beomaster 5000).

But loudness is not suitable for all situations. If I turn the Beomaster at around 30, it is probably better to switch loudness off and to turn up the bass.

My speakers are placed 1,5m away from the walls.

So my question is:

Do you use loudness yes or not?

Thanks a lot.
