I have two rooms connected with cat 7 and wall plugs at various points along it. This is to allow a master unit like Beosound 9000 to connect and be moved into several rooms. In the main room I have a BeoCenter 2 and BV8-40 which is the Master. I have BL8000's and BL19 connected to TV.

Can I unplug subwoofer from TV and plug into one of these wall sockets (within the same room obviously) that go from room to room?

Will the sub get the right signals from the TV or does it have to be plugged directly into the master TV?

Hi,

If you have fully shielded Cat 7 cable (not Cat 5 or 6) and all wall plates are also shielded, then you can "potentially" link the subwoofer via this cable.  The reason for my "potentially" comment is that any break in the shielding at the connection points, or any T pieces in the cable where it routes to multiple sockets can impact on the noise and signal quality.

If you have the option to connect the subwoofer and speakers directly to the TV or Beosound, then please do this instead of using the Cat 7 cables.  Adding the Cat 7 cables may work, but results can vary wildly depending on the details of the cable routing and quality.

If you have unshielded Cat 5/6 cables and/or unshielded RJ45 sockets, or if the cables run to a network switch, equipment cupboard or patch panel, then please don't use these for Beolab speakers.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
