Hello,

I am trying to connect a BS9000 and BL3500 mk1 using masterlink. Have tried multiple combinations of BS9000, BL3500, Masterlink cables and option modes. Nothing seems to work.

BS9000 does not have any speaker connected and BL3500 is in the same room.

BS9000 - TM 27 shows me ML Error 32 (with different cables and also BL3500)

BS3500 - Menu 0 2 Go shows me NO ML (with different cables and also BS9000), Menu 0 9 Go shows ML ON

I am out of ideas/options. Can someone tell me the correct options to set on BS9000 and BL3500 please.

Thank you !!

Remove the ML cable. If the BS9000 keeps giving the TM32 error (after clearing error), then you have a faulty ML/powerlinkboard.
The error is registered during startup when you switch on the BS9000 by swithing the red button.

Please try the BS9000 in A-Option 0, since it has no speakers connected.

Normally it senses, that it has none, and should be ready.

In this setup the 9000 receives no ir-controls - the controls are given through the BL3500, which has to be in L-Option 6.

Don't forget it all needs to be in Standby to set the options.

I think you then need to use "Link" commands to operate the system

Hopefully that works and helps.

Have you tested the speaker in power link-mode?

Its a mk1 with MCL - no powerlink. bl3500 works fine with a beocenter 9500 with 1611 converter.

I have 2 bs9000 and 2 bl3500 and multiple masterlink cables. none of the combos work.

firmware issues ?

You have to ensure the BL3500 is in Masterlink mode and not MCL mode.  I can't remember how you change them, but a search on here may help.

This page may help with options. Also there is a message about joining coloured wires. May not be applicable to you.

I posted the below having forgotten that the OP already had tried this option.

For activating “ML ON”

Menu + 0 + 9 + GO on the Beo4 should do the trick.

Reviving this old thread -

Yes, I have activated ML on the 3500 and I can see ML ON on the screen. I connected the 3500 to another BS9000 and it works without any issues.

I connected the BS9000 to a ML gateway and it's not getting detected there also. (while another one can).

So the issue seems to be with ML on the BS9000. I looked at the masterlink port on BS9000 to check if any connectors were bent and it all looks good.

Any suggestions on next steps ?
