Hi all, first post, lurking so far.
I have tried getting a basic setup going using the bs3000 and a bv7-32 with masterlink. No speakers attached to the bs3000, beolab 7-1 on the bv. I think I’ve tried all combinations that make sense with regards to option programming. I simply can’t get sound from the bs to play on the bv! Sound from eg tv or dtv play fine, so the bv and bl are good. The bs can play from cd, radio or aux when stand alone with speakers attached, so it’s good too. When linked with masterlink, when I select a source from the bs, eg cd, the tv seems to switch to the correct source (indicated on the led display) and the cd starts playing on the bs. But no sound. Same for all sources.
can anyone give me some pointers? I’m at a real loss here...

TIA

Hi and welcome!

The BS3000 should be set to A.OPT 0

The BV should be set to V.OPT 2.

... and that should work!

Are you getting acknowledgement from the devices when changing Option settings (which should be done with the system at standby)?   The standby light on each device should flash to confirm that the Option setting has been received.

If all the above is correct, perhaps there is a problem with the ML cable; you could try reversing it to rule out a fault with audio transmission in one direction, or simply try another cable.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just tried what you proposed, same result. Cd starts playing, I can switch tracks, but no sound. I programmed the options again like you said, and tried reversing the cable. This cable has been used successfully to connect the bv to a beolink 3500 previously. Anything else I can try?

I found the problem! It had nothing too do with masterlink, but somehow the speaker configuration on the bv had front speakers set to beolab 4000 and center to beolab 7-1. Set front to none, and there’s sound! Thanks to Guy for confirming that my understanding of the option setup was correct!

Great news. Thanks for letting us know the solution as that may be very helpful for those with a similar problem in the future. 😄
