Hello oracles (!)

Have been refurbishing quite a few Beolink 7000's with great success until now.

Got a unit in mint visual condition. Changed the batteries and button battery underneath the pcb. Changed all the capacitors too. Desoldered the chip next to the two SMD-capacitors but no sign of any leaking capacitors. PCB looks clean and neat

But the damn thing still doesn't work!

Display, touch, programming etc. all works, but it simply will not communicate with the Beomaster 7000 - not even in one way mode. Have tried the initial setup with no success - NO IR at all.

How do I test the IR-diodes or have I missed something.

Any leads anyone?

Just tested the blank IR diodes: no output

Solved the problem.

Previous owner had changed the LiIon battery underneath, but had failed to clean the pcb for the acid leftovers - see the rust on the cover, must have some leak !

Replaced (invisible) broken track with a piece of wire - and everything works perfectly again :-)

Great work! Yes - thumbs up

It's so much to work to get to the battery on a BL7000 (I am glad it hadn't leaked in my unit, it was just flat!).
