Atmos

Now I am only dreaming,

But an update of the Beosystem 4, that is the platform in Eclipse and Harmony,

To Atmos support and HDMI 2.1 lets say 2021, dreaming is allowed sometimes :D

Even if B&O won't integrate it into Harmony/Eclipse, it could create some extra BeoLab sales if e.g. the Aximm will feature Atmos.

B&o have something they call true image.

http://www.tonmeister.ca/wordpress/2013/12/06/bo-tech-trueimage-upmixing/

Read more about it her. Why need dolby atmos, When you can have up to 16 connected speakers, and the signal thats get into the TV upmix to the right channel in a algoritme.
B&O have this in all the new TV also, and back to bv11 and system 4

Andy, netflix and all default to 5.1 when they don’t see atmos. The upmixing is good but getting atmos in makes a big difference on my setup with more than 5.1 speakers, it’s clearly audible.

So yes trueimage is good, but not many sources will see dolby digital plus and give more than 6 channels/5.1 because of it. When i used the upmixing the surround and rear sort of acted like 1 channel from different places(if that makes any sense) now with the actual atmos in, downmixed to DD plus, there is a clear distinction in channels for surround and rear and they seem to operate much more as individual channels.
