Hello all!

I bought a Beovision 7-32 for one of the children as it would free up our own tv :), but unfortunately I have an issue when I connect the Apple TV (MkIII) via a DVI-adapter: The picture is great (I know a need a D/A converter for the sound) but the picture flickers every two seconds!

I've tried to change the resolution on the Apple TV but it reverts back to 720 HD - 60 Hz everytime.

Any ideas what this could be?

Hello,

I had the same issue and it was because of a cable.

Best regards,

IIRC there is a setting in the service mode that can switch the setting for the dvi socket

might be worth giving that a go, after reading the service manual

Thanks guys for the suggestions! :)

Here's an update: I've tried different HDMI cables and also different DVI-adapters - but to no result. Stills flickers.

But... we have a newer ATV (the first without optical signal) and when I connected that one using the same cables the flickering stopped.

The mystery thickens.

The same in my case

BV7-32 with ATV2 all good but no streaming (HDCP error)

BV7-32 with ATV3 flicks every 2 sec with all cables.

BV7-32 mk1 (DVI).

Interesting - in my case it’s the opposite. ATV3 gives no flickering, but ATV2 does... But ATV2 have sound, which the ATV3 doesn’t (no optical output on that model)

My bad! The ATV that flickers is a G3 and the one that doesn’t is a G4.

I believe you can buy an adapter for the Apple TV that splits the video and audio from the HDMI output. That way you get the HDMI to DVI for video and audio via the optical/digital output.

B&O in my life 😊:

  • Beolab 8002 + Beolab 2 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Office)
  • Beolab 6000 + Beolab 11 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Bedroom)
  • Beoplay A9 Mk2 (Living Room)
  • Beosound 1 with wireless dock (Portable)
  • Beosound Balance (Dining)
  • Beoplay H95 (Focused listening, travel)
  • Beoplay H9 (3rd gen) (retired)
  • Beoplay P6 (Portable)
  • Beotime wall clock (hallway entrance)
  • BMW X5 50i with B&O Audio Package (Commute/drive)

My BV7-32 can show ATV 3rd gen with no flicker. Adjust the video output in ATV3 menu

I used the settings I saw when connecting the ATV4, which were

  • 720 HD
  • 60 Hz
  • RGB low

instead of the "Auto" used by the ATV3. Still flickering...Lightning

You are right! I found such a cable and will try that one. Hopefully it will work and I am pretty sure it will work with the ATV4, which now has become my B-plan.
