Here's a question about the record shown in promotional photography taken of the circa-1983 BeoMaster 2000 etc: can anyone identify the album/artist? The photo is below, including the best close-up of the album cover possible. Something like "Contemporary [...] Piano Music Played By [...] [...]" ?
Upon further inspection, I now think it reads "Contemporary Danish Piano Music Played By The [...]", which would make sense given the B&O context...
And I see an AGFA cassette! Damn what ever happened to AGFA??? Proper vintage brand ;)
It's in the 1985 catalogue too.I will see if I can dig out the original, maybe it's clearer.

Erik Kaltoft.

Oh yes - the days of AGFA and BASF cassettes...AGFA, of course, stopped making cassette tapes many years ago -and in 2004 they divested their 'core business' - all photographic activities - to the new independent company 'AgfaPhoto'.

Thank you Steffen.
I loved the BASF LH (Yellow) and LH1 (green) cassettes growing up as a shorty :)
Merry Christmas! :) And sorry for any arguments in the past :)
A friend of mine was born 1985. I gave him that B&O catalogue as one of his 21st birthday presents!!!! I still have the 1984 one!!!!!!!!!!

You're welcome, Paul.
I don't hold grudges against people Merry christmas to you too.
Back then I preferred the BASF Chrome Maxima II. But my favorite 'collectors item' was some AGFA 'special edition' cassettes - covered in 'gold'

Ar yes I remember the Maxima but wasn't that around 1986? I used the Chromdioxid in 1984 I think that I still have it. I remeber my Aunt having bright orange AGFA cassettes and my Mum brought my a green coloured one from back home in Alicante, Spain!
I loved the Maxell XLII and TDK ADs at the time!!! I wish i'd kept all of my cassettes but I had a huge throw out before I left for University and throw everything away - gutted!!!
Funny how as a kid I had a better sounding system than the one i use now - i've done a full circle with systems and now portability is key, just like my first ever Philips orange mono battery powered record player!!!!
I still have my Grandad's Beogram 1500, Beomaster 1900 and Beocord 1900 with 35 speakers from 1979 in storage! One day...
Fantastic, thanks Dillen! I've found and ordered this LP from Denmark, and will report back when it gets to Chicago...

I always used TDK - a variety of D, AD, OD, and mainly SA with a few MA and -X thrown in the mix. They got a bit silly at the end with a variety of other two letter names. I didn't use Maxell as my dealer told me they were more abrasive and I didn't like the colour of BASF!! I did have a few Memorex with the cool cassette cases which opened in a silly way and were more rounded and had a small collection of the reel to reel looking cassettes!
Still got a huge draw but never use them now - the quality diminishes with time! I use one now and then to feed the Beocord 5000 which enjoys a good meal once in a while!

Arrived safely! Here are some high-quality scans for those who are curious. (I left on the Århus City Library stickers as evidence of provenance! :) )
