Hi!

I've recently encountered a new problem regarding my BC2. Upon loading the unit, both the aluminium panels open normally but the clamper won't rise. That is until pressing "LOAD" again or waiting for about a minute or so, which after the clamper rises. The annoying part is that the clamper closes immediately after reaching the open position which makes using the unit somewhat painful.

My intuition tells me that there might be a problem regarding whether or not the unit knows when the aluminium panels reach the open position because the motor opening the doors keeps on going for a while even though the panels have reached their open position. Any ideas if this is a cleaning or parts replacement issue?

I have searched the service manual and the archived forum for answers and found that this has been an issue for others too. Somehow I still don't think it is a gear slipping issue but rather has something to do with the sensors sensing the open/close positions of the panels.

Best regards!

It's the belt that is located below the right wing (not the one below the LCD!)

Mine did the same thing when connected to a non-B&O TV, but works perfectly when connected to a Beovision.....

Helle,

I have changed the belt. Now the BC2 open and close again like it should. It is not very difficult to do it you can download Service Center repair Guide in the Internet.

Olaf

Hi,

I just have  the same problem with my beocenter 2 ...the funny thing being that, when the clamper opens on the second push of the button, their is no light coming on: do you observe the same thing ?

I was under the impression that it was a mechanical problem so  I removed the 2 keyboards and the display to access the CD clamper unit but  I didn't go the extra step to remove that plate that hide the keyboard belt....maybe I should have

anyway the fact that my light does not come on tells me there should be ( if the problem is mechanical not SW ) some kind of switch somewhere: I didn't see any in the parts I dismantled ( except for the hall effect sensor which is on the left keyboad) is thetre anything under those plates were the belts for the keyboards are ?

If yes, I will strip it again ....

I have the same issue and when this happens the light does not come on when the clamper opens : do you have the same thing ?

from my mechanical engineer backgroung that tells me a switch isn't properly activated somewhere ( but maybe this is a SW issue) so I removed the 2 keyboards but didn't see any swithches there (except the hall effect switch on the back of the left keyboad ) ..maybe I should have taken the extra step to get access to the gearbox rubber belt

I could not get the suggestion that the rubber belt might be the issue out of my mind so to make sure I got back to it ( removed, cleaned and put the same belt in place)....In the process I found that one screw holding the clamper ( the one at the back) was completly loose so I tightened it

Everthing seems be be functionning normally now ....unfortunatly because I did 2 things at the same time I do not know which of the belt or the screw was the cause of the problem

I hope this will help you

regards

Philippe

I had the same issue.

I order the 2732004 "Belt for BeoCenter 2 gear box" and changed it. It is the belt below the right door, NOT the belt below the display.

Now my clamper is opening and waiting until I press the load button again.
