Hi,
I recently installed a 6-22 in my bedroom and connected an old Technisat DVB-S receiver on V.Tape socket. The Technisat receiver is controlled via PUC. Everything works fine except that the TV does not turn on by the first press of the DTV button. Sometimes I have to press DTV twice. It is not a problem of the remote as i tested three different Beo4. The strange thing is that the TV turns green on the first press of DTV, then after some seconds it turns red and the after some seconds it turns green again and then red again, but no picture inbetween. If I now press DTV again the 6-22 turns on instantly.
Could this be a timing problem between the 6-22 and the Technisat as the Technisat takes some time to spin up its build in harddrive and get ready to show a picture ?
Is there anything I can try to get it working with one press of DTV ? Perhaps is there a setting for this in service menu of the 6-22 ?
Kind regards
Martin

Your hypothesis would seem to fit the symptoms, is there anything in the Technisat forums about waking it up faster ? getting it to handshake better ?

Hi Ed,
I already checked some forums dealing with this old Digicorder S1. The only setting to speed up starting is to select "standby", not "off" under power options, so I selected "standby". I will give it a try with a new 2,5" hdd as these drive spin up faster than the 3,5" model which is currently fitted.
Another thing which comes to my mind, is that the RGB video option might not work correct on TV startup. I know this from older Beovision CRTs. The problem is that it does not happen on every startup.
Regards
Today I got the new 2,5" hdd, a sata-to-ide converter and a mounting adapter from 3,5" to 2,5" for my Digicorder S1. Build in everything and started up the TV with the DTV button. To my surprise nothing changed. Boot-up time still the same and as before the TV switches on-off-on off, but no picture shows up. Pressing DTV again brings up a picture.
I also changed the video setting on the Digicorder from RGB to FBAS, but still the same problem.
Any other ideas what I can do now ?
