Depends how one describes "broke" - its still in 2 pieces wired together, but the display doesn't work anymore.

Replace electrolytic capacitors.
If the voltage regulator has been affected too, it will of course also need replacing.

Andreas, received your display in good order!

I disconnected your display and connected it to "my" board!

Display works...

Your board and display connected to my Penta..

Hi Leslie, thx for checking them. I'm kind of puzzled..... Guess the only reasonable explanation is that something else is screwed with my Penta's. Would you have a wild guess what else could be wrong?

I suggest you start with the simple things:

Remove the amplifier and check the din connector going from the amp to the speaker. If it checks out ok (i.e., plugged in ok) remove the bottom cover of the speaker and check the connections on the crossover board. Take a multimeter and check continuity through the socket and so on.

There's one thing I don't understand Andreas. Didn't you told me or us that you have connected the display with the other Penta and that it it still didn't work?

Yep I did do this - but with the Penta which doesn't wok, instead the working one. Additionally I'm not so sure I really picked the right working display and not by mistake the very same one again.  Feel like a fool now... Geeked
