Audio signal sensing datalink protocol signal generator?

Hi guys.

This question is on a data protocol level, and I have no such knowledge, but I hope that there are others here who can add some value.

I have a Chromecast audio connected to the aux connector of my 2300. This works very well, but it would be very cool to add the functionality where a datalink signal is generated to activate main on/off when the Chromecast starts streaming audio. Then the 2300 would start up and shut down automatically when I start and stop streaming music. No need for the beolink remote or manual on/off.

So here comes the challenge: does anyone know how to design and assemble a small and cheap signal generator module that will sense audio signal from the Chromecast and immediate generate a datalink "power on" signal to the 2300. Then some 30sec after audio signal stop it should generate a datalink "power off" signal to shut the 2300 down. Ideally it should be powered from similar 5V DC as the Chromecast or similar.

If anyone has the knowledge how this can be done it would be fantastic to hear from that person.

Maybe you could make an IR transmitter that just sends the Beo 4 "A.Tape" or "Aux" command as soon as it receives an audio signal.
There are arduino solutions for IR receivers and transmitters on the web.
